There is a bit of confusion with the Sans Souci Hotels. This one is the Sans Souci II also known as the Gecko). There is also a Sans Souci IV so make sure you know which one you are booking. The hotel has a good location in the old quater and near the lake and numerous restaurants, bars and the night market. It is down an alley so it is quiet. Our room was OK, not big but adequate, no view we looked out at a wall about a foot away. There was mould in the bathroom and the pipes to the sink continually leaked so that the bathroom floor was always wet. The room safe did not work with the combination lock so they gave us a key that seemed to be the master key. The room was a little tired and my bedside light did not work but it was clean. There was a lift so upper floors were no problem. We paid $25/night which included a basic breakfast of eggs, toast and juice and sometimes yogurt. We had to wait a while for breakfast orders to be taken even when the staff were sitting at another table, so allow plenty of time. We paid $18 for an airport transfer to get to the hotel and when we left we noticed airport transfers from agencies in the street were about $10 so they told us we could have one for $12 in a "not so good car". In summary an OK hotel in a good location.
