“Hanoi Guest House Highly Recommended”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2012

I stayed at the Hanoi Guest House in September 2012. I booked through the internet and arranged my trip to Sapa via email with Hanoi Guest House before I left. When I arrived at the desk the staff knew who I was, had my room organised and my ticket on the train to Sapa organised. They can and do arrange all types of tours to suit you. I highly recommend this Guest House it is right in the middle of the bustling old quarter of Hanoi in Ma May Street which is an ancient street with a heritage listed Vietnamese business house that has been restored lovingly. Plenty of restaurants, coffee shops, tourist shops around and within easy walking to most things in Hanoi. Hanoi is a very walkable city as long as you get used to sauntering across the roads. My room was squeekly clean, comfortable and quiet, TV mini bar, bathroom good. Breakfast was included in the price which for me was juice, scrambled eggs and a baguette Vietnamese coffee yumooo. The staff speak excellent English, were so helpful and delightful, polite and wonderful. They organised taxi's for me to the airport as I few to China for a week in the middle of my stay in Hanoi, picked me up at midnight from the airport as well. Reasonably priced good value, lovely service. I highly recommened the Hanoi Guest House for a stay in Hanoi.

Room Tip: Ask for room 305, it has double doors opening on to a little balcony that over looks the street.

The gently decorated and air-conditioned lobby greets you with a much needed relaxing feeling when searching for a refuge from the hectic and humid streets of Hanoi's old quarter. Right in the middle of it all, and next to the beautifully restored memorial house, the "Hanoi Guesthouse" is like a flower in the dessert.
My wife and I stayed there for just one night, yet we were allowed to leave our luggage behind for the duration of our trip to Sapa, and take a shower before leaving. On our return, in the early morning a few days later, we were allowed to shower again and were treated with a breakfast.
In all of our stay in Vietnam, and quite frankly also during other vacations in other parts of the world, we have never come across such service.
On top of that, the staff was wonderful, rooms clean and the breakfast really fine.
Highly recommended!

The hotel location is strategic, all the stuff there are offer good services...
When you were asking the restaurant location, attraction etc, they are willing to show you the direction with map provided. Just one things to improve, facilities at bedroom need to maintain from time to time... we are booking 4 rooms, but 3 room facing air cond and piping problem...

The hotel is very conveniently located in the old quarter, yet the rooms a very quiet (at least the Standard and Superior category). It is clean, the breakfast is tasty and the staff very helpfull and attentive. We were picked up reliably and could book all our tours through the reception, at a decent price and with good advice what to look out for. I can only recommend this hotel to anyone who comes to Hanoi, I'll definately keep their address for the next time.

Room Tip: Standard rooms are a little on the small side for two people, but ok for a few days. Superior rooms...

Everything is better than our expectations: the staffs helpfulness and friendliness (from advising the places to visit to taxi booking), rooms are nice and clean, location is strategic, plenty of shops and restaurants around to choose from, breakfast is decent, highly recommend it to other travellers.

We had a 1 week vacation in Hanoi and I requested Hanoi Guesthouse to prepare my itinerary which include SAPA, HalongBay and Tam-coc tour. We had a great time in Hanoi City, the location of the guesthouse is very strategic. You can find everything you need nearby. Room i stayed is clean, we took the Honeymoon suite and price is reasonable. Staffs are friendly and helpful too. That makes our stay enjoyable and less worries.
