We have just returned from a 3 night stay in Classic St. Hotel in Hanoi. This hotel surpassed our expectations for the price charged. Firstly, our arranged pick up at the hotel was hassle free and made the trip into Hanoi very easy. Greetings at the hotel give you a glimpse of the friendliness and charm of the staff. Rooms are great. They were spacious enough, good bathrooms, beautiful and comfy linen. The beds and pillows were great too! Breakfast was more than ample and gives you a choice between western and Vietnamese foods. Staff were exemplary. They gave suggestions for restaurants and tours and gave us excellent advice for shopping in a very busy and hectic city. They were exceptionally helpful in booking tours and getting Vietnam sim cards for our phones. The location of this hotel was perfect for us. The Old Quarter is centrally located and if you are keen to walk (as we were) you can see much of this wonderful city. We stayed the weekend of the Moon Festival and were invited to a celebration with other guests by the owner and staff. On offer was traditional Vietnamese foods and wines. It was a wonderful way to be part of this beautiful and interesting culture. Thank you to Mr. Phuc, Mr. Cat and your wonderful staff for your helpfulness and friendliness. You made our stay a complete success. We would return to Classic St. without hesitation. You won't be disappointed.

The best thing was the amazing comfy beds and crisp white bedding. The desire to stay in bed all day was tempting! We walked in here as a passing query and stayed for three nights. Our room was perfect. Spacious, quiet and light with a great bathroom. Breakfast was really good quality with plenty of choice and the dining area was charming. This seems to be family run and at breakfast everyone helps out so it's great to meet the staff and talk to them. The staff were very friendly once we checked in and helpful without pushing tours etc. At 35$ for a double room including breakfast this scored ten out of ten for us and would re book if we return to Hanoi. Perfect.

What a helpful manager Mr Phuc is. He booked our Hanoi day tour and our 2 night cruise of Halong Bay. Both were excellent. Mr Phuc greets you with a lovely smile. All staff are very helpful. Hot water great. Rooms large. Best Pho I had in Vietnam and the other Vietnamese option on the menu was excellent. Great location. Easy walk to lake and Puppet theatre (a must). Thank you Mr Phuc, we hope to be back.

Excellent location, in close proximity to water puppet theater, hoan kiem lake and its surrounding sight seeing and atmosphere... Friendly owner (old lady) and helpful staffs, clean room, antique decoration and furniture yet pleasant to the eyes and nice ambience overall.... Will come back and stay at this hotel next time...

We stayed in Classic street hotel in June 2012 for 2 nights and were really happy there.
First impression can be a gloomy tiny hotel, but once you spend 5-10 minutes there you realize how charming it is. It has a very authentic vietnamese style (at least the way I see it)) with little statues all over the place and photos of old Hanoi, antique furniture - the whole place smells history and peace. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were nice and clean, breakfast decent. We liked the rooster singing in the outside heard from our window in the morning!
We couldn`t wish to find a better place for our stay in Hanoi. Stay there.

The entry to this hotel is so small and unconspicious, that one doesn't excpect much at this very attractively priced hotel. The rooms are beautiful, comfortable, good beds and bathroom. Lots of interesting furniture and art everywhere. The staff and owner are very friendly and cooperative. The hotel is ideally located in the Old Quarter right next to Hoa Kiem lake. Incredible price on Agoda. I would definitevely go back !

Hanoi is a city to fall irrevocably in love with, but this love needs to be helped on quite a bit at the beginning. This is a city turned inside out - the pavements and streets are alive with human energy, and all of human life is there to be seen and to become part of. The Classic Street Hotel is a great place to start if you want to take on the challenge of becoming part of this great human dance of movement and sound. Once you begin to flow with the city, it opens its heart to you. The walk between Classic Street Hotel and Hoan Kiem Lake will get you started because it takes you from one oasis of relative peace to another, and in the beginning, you really do need these oases. The hotel appears deceptively small and non-descript from the street, but like most spaces in Vietnam, the extreme narrowness of the building is offset by the depths that lie behind the facade. Once you pass the utilitarian reception desk, the hotel expands into a zen-like, open-air, marbled lobby which is decorated with antique carvings, prints, unusual objects, small water-features and plants. This is a really lovely place to sit at night time. The breakfast room is a continuation of this space and is calm, cool and restful. The rooms are clean and well-equipped, and there is wi-fi for every floor and computers freely available in the reception area. Some rooms are more spacious than others so it's well worth inquiring about a move if you feel that yours is too small. Breakfast is simple and good - fresh rolls, eggs and fruit on the European menu, and Pho on the Vietnamese menu. Coffee here will take a little getting used to but - like so many things in Vietnam - it will slowly persuade you to love it, and then you'll miss it when you can't have it any more. One of the best and most important thing about Classic Street Hotel is the staff. They are endlessly patient in helping you to plan and organise anything that you want to do. We booked our trips to Halong Bay and SaPa through the hotel, and they put hours into it on our behalf, tweaking it for us right up to the last moment. They stored our luggage while we were away on these trips, and we were able to check back into the same room when we returned. At the ned of this part of our SE Asia trip, we were very sad to be leaving Hanoi, and almost equally sad to be saying 'goodbye' to the Classic Street Hotel. Stay here.
