“Don't miss the 2 upstairs rooms and the second location a few doors down”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 18, 2014

As two large shopping bags as proof, I was able to buy some amazing gifts for myself and others for a very reasonable price. The secret is to make sure you see every nook and cranny of the two different shops, in two different street blocks. They sell purses, women's and children's clothing, table linens (upstairs in 2 rooms- go outside on the balcony and into the second room), Jewelery, scarves, lacquerware, stuffed animals (downstairs), and in the second location more home accessories (lots of lacquerware) plus some beautiful handmade paper journals ($3) and some Jewelery. Highly recommend!

“Great gifts, treasure trove”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2014

I purchased some beautiful silk scarves and cute make up bag/ bags for gifts. I found things that I hadn't seen in other stores and they were reasonably priced with the added bonus of being from a not for profit organisation.

“An absolute must for shopping in Hanoi.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2014

Not only because it is a not-for-profit organisation that helps out the ethnic tradional artisans... Craft Link is also a wonderful place to shop to be able to have an extraodinary range of gifts at very good prices. Laquer ware, scarves, serving spoons and platters, jewellery, slippers and beanies/hats, a huge range of bags and clutches right through to clothing and traditional costumes.

I bought a whole suitcase of items for presents for the next year for my family and friends.
Thank you.

“Not impressed at all, unfortunately”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2013

I went to this place after having read all the reviews, and was expecting to be able to finish my entire shopping in one go. Didn't happen.

The place is great if you want to buy silk scarves and shirts, etc, but there isn't much more than that. I didn't find any bowls and trays as mentioned by others, and I went thru the entire shop on both levels and across.

Don't get me wrong - the quality of what they do have is very nice and I ended up buying a few scarves for my wife, but I was expecting a lot more based on all the reviews. I wasn't able to find much more than a few things, and had to continue the hunt elsewhere.

Wouldn't especially go out of the way to visit the place, personally.

“Great Fair Trade/Not For Profit Shop With Unique Items”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2013

Craft-Link is a short taxi ride (~25,000 VND or about USD$1.30) from the old quarters of Hanoi, but well worth the trip. It has hand made crafts from various ethnic groups within Vietnam and is a fair trade shop. This means that the items are unique, and fair trade/fixed price, for a great cause.

Located in two separate buildings, a hundred meters apart, there is an upstairs to one of the stores, and after you go upstairs, another room that makes you go out on the balcony. All the rooms, and the two stores have very different items, so it is a good idea to hit all the rooms. Near the crafts is typically a short note, or pamphlet that describes the people who made the crafts.

Items that you aren’t likely to find elsewhere, a good staff that is helpful but not pushy, and fixed pricing for a good cause, Craft-Link is a great place to pick up gifts and souvenirs that are much better and have a story to tell vs the trinkets you can get on the street.
