This hotel has an excellent location on a safe street in the historic and interesting Old Quarter a couple of hundred metres from the lake, restaurants and ATM; the shops..........they start at your doorstep.

Rooms are huge, spotlessly clean and very comfortable, bathrooms OK and the staff are friendly & helpful (are't all Vietnamese hotel staff like that?).

The rooms above the street have romantic balconies, but Hanoi traffic - beep, beep, beep 24/7!

Breakfast is cooked for you - omelette, breadroll, coffee & juice.

This is a classic, old, boutique-style hotel.

Value for money? - absolutely for $35 to $40US.

As per my experience the Hotel is beeing operated by crooks.
They charge around 27 US $ per Internet but give away the room for 10 US$ at the desk. On top the bastards gave a "no show" to the Internet-plattform I booked the room at after I changed the hotel for another one run by the same crooks (Prince II) so that in fact I payed for 2 rooms.

I had the opportunity to stay at the Huyen Trang Hotel during my stay in Hanoi in April 2004.

In overall, I had a great experience with comfortable, clean rooms, sparkle bathroom, friendly and experienced staff provided me with a nice stay at this hotel.

It is situated in the heart of Hanoi and close to a variety of souvenir shops. The hotel is few steps from the ancient and romantic Hoan Kiem Lake where it is nice to walk all around.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in a great hotel during their stay in the beautiful city of Hanoi in Vietnam.
