“Great service made all the difference”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 14, 2014

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the Calypso Suites. Upon arrival at the hotel on an icy-cold night, we were greeted by Mai who ushered us to the sofa and served us hot tea while she checked us in. After that, she spent around 15-20 minutes giving us tips on how to plan our holiday, briefing us on the various tourist attractions, their opening times and gave us clear directions on how to get there.
Our room was clean, comfortable and tastefully furnished. Breakfast was a generous spread of western and Vietnamese delights.
If we ever return to Hanoi, we would definitely consider returning to Calypso Suites.

I can't say enough positive things about this hotel and all its staff! From the moment we arrived to a perfect cup of tea to being pleasantly surprised with the upgrade to celebrate a 40th birthday...everything else in between was just wonderful! The breakfasts are cooked to order and delicious. A great way to kick start your day. The staff will go above and beyond to ensure you have everything you need. We even got a huge surprise of a birthday cake on our last night complete with candles and a song sung by the staff. It's no wonder this hotel rates as high as it does. Thank you to the exceptional staff at the Calypso! We will be back for sure! All the best...Melissa and Mr. Scott.

We stayed only 1 night in this hotel, but the service was absolutely amazing!
The entire staff went out of their way to make our stay just perfect.
It 's a lovely hotel, located in a narrow street right in the center of Hanoi.
Really quiet at night and from the moment we arrived, we were pampered every minute we spent there. All the staff are super friendly and arrange anything you need done, and all at the blink of an eye!
Ranging from breakfast service to trip confirmations and restaurant tips...all are impeccable.

There 's only one thing that was disappointing: that we couldn 't stay longer because we had a tight schedule and were moving to Sa Pa the day after.

In short: if you plan a trip to Hanoi, just book this one and you won 't regret a minute.

Best wishes from the both of us and we hope to be back one day!

The TripAdvisor top-ranking for Hanoi hotels is completely justified. This is a great spot in the center of the old quarter that offers the perfect escape from the motorbike craziness of Hanoi. It's located in a lesser-traveled and quaint side street/alleyway which is very charming. The rooms are small, but extremely clean, cozy and comfortable, including the beds and bedding. I woke up in sheer excitement each morning during my 4 night stay over the free breakfast which featured a small but perfect sampling of Vietnamese fare and fresh fruit / fruit juices, an extensive menu of both breakfast and lunch options, and an unbelievably pleasant and helpful staff. Oh, and on New Years eve we returned to our room to find a lengthy HANDWRITTEN card from the hotel management wishing us a pleasant stay and a happy new year. And all this for a really, really great and reasonable price. Solid.

Staying at the Calypso Legend Hotel was fantastic. It has pretty much everything you could want when staying in Hanoi - great value and good location - but the staff are fantastic. They really go over and beyond what is expected, willing to assist in anything you could want. This hotel is a gem.

We loved our stay at this hotel. Everyone working there went above and beyond expectations and really made our stay fantastic. The location was really good and we enjoyed our breakfasts. Our room was a junior suite and had a great view, and was a good size for my family of three. There was an initial issue with our booking but they resolved it very fast and any initial worry I had about our booking was made up to by the wonderful service. Thanks to everyone at this outstanding hotel.

This hotel is in a great location in the old quarter. Although rooms are on the small side they have all the amenities needed, are very nicely decorated and there is a lift. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They went to the effort of organising a Birthday Cake and card for my daughter and then they all sung happy birthday to her. The breakfast was average with the food arriving a bit cold at times. The tour organised by our hotel was efficient however we did not enjoy the junk ride on the Mekong as it was very basic and we found out later did not include everything as we had thought. I can recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Get a room higher up as we were on second floor and noise from the cafe travels up the stairs in the...
