“Very friendly place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2013

We had a cheap room (12$) with:
Fridge, balconny, A/C, TV, double bed AND single bed.
Great shower, was clean, and only some bugs, but if you know cheap hotels, you know it's not a big deal.
Stayed 4 nights, loved the staff even if some didn't speak english, they were helpful (to all english speakers: avoid this place instead of giving bad comments just for the language).
The 2 days/1 night trip to Mai Chau was the cheapest we found with a very nice and friendly guide.
We tried 3 hotels for 12-15$ in Hanoi, and this one was the cheapest and the better.
No breakfast included.
But again, this is vietnam: there is food everywhere (go along the railway tracks) and by the way, there are some nice cafés around.
Would definitely comeback.

This is a okay hotel, but not more than that. The staff are friendly, but always trying to sell you some of there tours. Breakfast is nothing to brag about, but there. Rooms are big, but not that very clean and the beds are hard.
You get what you pay for. It is very cheap.

Everything about this place was terrible. The evening staff didnt speak any english. The stair way was falling apart. The door handle was hanging off. Half of the lights didnt work in the room. The window didnt shut. The shower head just hung down as the wall mount was broken off. The free bathroom toilettries were covered in filth. The bed was rock hard. The staff the next day were more interested in playing world of warcraft. We were over charged for our room, 15 dollars!!! Avoid this place like the cockroaches that run around it.

We turned up at this hostel with a few people who had booked in. It wasn't great from the start, the boys behind the desk spoke no English!! We translated and said we wanted a room for 2 people and the same price as the others. They nodded. We got to the room nothing special but thought was fine for a night. The beds however were rock solid and other guests informed us of cockroaches in their rooms so we slept in our own sleeping bags. The other people told us breakfast was included so we went down and had fried egg with bread. Come check out they informed us it would cost 15$!! We said no we were told 13 he then told us we had breakfast so needed to pay extra by showing us their leaflet which clearly stated FREE breakfast!! I argued but he wouldn't change so we paid. I was very angry and they tarnished by start to Vietnam.

The rooms are very affordable and a good breakfast (fried eggs, toast and jam, and tea) is included! The staff went above and beyond -- giving us directions to places and giving us bread and cheese to take with us for breakfast when we left at 5 am to catch a train! They did this with a smile which says a lot. I was under the impression that many hostel-type places would be pushing their tours on those staying with them. This was not the case here -- no pressure! The size of our room was great -- bigger than most. Only problem was that some things were falling apart a bit -- shower head in one room and the towel rack and AC in another (we switched rooms part way through our stay). If you can live we this it is a great place to stay. The staff goes out of their way to accommodate you!

Room Tip: The stairs can be tiring, but it is quieter above the second floor as you won't hear the noise f...

The staff are very friendly and helpful. The upgraded me to a single room (also for 5$ per night, including breakfast) when they didn't have any female dorms left. The rooms (both dorms and single rooms) are spatious, and the bathroom's really clean. The one disadvantage was that there was construction work going on in one of the buildings nextdoor, which woke me up early in the morning every day.

We Felt so unwelcome, and didnt enjoy our stay here at all! It Seems like everything was too much effort. Last place I'd stay in Hanoi if given the option! In 3days rooms weren't cleaned, unlimited tea/coffee which if you ask for a cup u almost get glared at. When you walk in u can wait for ur room key whilst they play games and occupy their time on the computer. The agreed price wasn't the same when checking out (although in the end it was agreed unhappily). And the wifi is extremely frustrating, might be better to have none.
