“A Good, Good Find!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2013

We stayed here for 3D/2N. From the outside, it doesn't look all that great. Ditto with the lobby & in Hanoi, expect buildings to be narrow. Hence, the tiny lift & steep staircases. However, we were warmly welcomed at the lobby. The staff knew enough english & were very friendly. They also pay particular attention to your needs & safety. We booked a super deluxe room with twin beds. The room was beyond our expectations. It was spacious, had what seemed like queen sized beds (A total of 6 people can share in both beds), airconditioning was working like a gem, huge flat screen tv with cable, free fast wifi anywhere in the premises, desktop computer, working mini fridge, hot/cold shower, standard toiletries & a mini bar. Even if it is located in the middle of everything, you don't get to here the outside hustle & bustle. In the morning, the curtains do their lovely work of blocking off the sunshine but also let a teeny bit in to let one know it's morning. Our stay included breakfast which was your regular standard toast, butter, eggs, ham, salad, coffee, tea, rice, noodles & some local food. Don't expect pancakes nor waffles. Despite that, it wasn't bad. As a matter of fact, it helps jump start your long day of sight seeing, etc. It is walking distance to all the shops. A 10 minute cab ride to the plaza/lake which is where all the action is. By the way, almost all shops close by 1030pm. So it's best to eat dinner as you sight see or order some take away. Otherwise, you sleep hungry. Don't count on the hotel as they too have nothing to offer. Aside from all these, they offer a massage service which we were not able to try since we were out almost the whole day. In other words, it also has a curfew. We tried 1130pm. In general, I'd say it was a pleasurable stay especially if you intend to be out most of the time. If given the chance to visit again, I'd definitely choose this one without a second thought.

Stayed April 13 on an internet special for $24 pn . Was given a free upgrade to deluxe without asking as they " had a room available" . Room was roomy and clean, shower and toilet the same. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We went to Halong bay leaving our bag at the Times hlotel. We were in another hotel when we returned and they offered to bring our bag there and refused money for doing so. The building is fairly old and the breakfast was nothing special but is well located in the old quarter and good value on a budget.
