Hanoi city hostel is wonderful. Super clean rooms, close to everything, and the staff go out of their way to help you with whatever your needs may be. Great free breakie in the morning, computer in the lobby which is perfect if your like me and traveling without a smart phone. I would 100 percent recommend everyone to stay here. You'll love it! Thanks Moon :)

Stayed here for 2 nights, and found the staff very helpful and willing to share their knowledge and help us book additional tours as well as our travel to our next destination!
Rooms clean and spacious and plus a nice breakfast in the morning and location really good to get around Hanoi!
Would recommend to anyone!

The Hanoi City Hostel is a very low cost hotel, yet don't let that fool you. Being in the Old Quarter most tour companies will provide hotel pickup/drop-off. The staff is very helpful and accommodating. The rooms are clean, and it is a generally nice place. We did several tours with Hanoi City Hostel as our base camp. When we returned from a 3 day Ha Long Bay tour, with a night flight out and no room...they allowed us to keep our belongings at the desk while we went to eat and complete a few last minute errands. They got us an airport transfer at a reasonable fixed rate. They got us breakfast early when we needed it. I really cannot, and do not, ask for more. If I find myself needing a room in the Hanoi Old Quarter in the future....I will definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: We had a high room, and all things considered it was pretty quiet.

Located right in the center of the old quarter. The host of English speaking staff are wonderful and booked a two night Halong bay tour for me as well as providing information about Hanoi. The room was quite spacious and although it showed its age in some spots, I have no big complaints. Breakfast was basic but sufficient offering a choice between bread and Vietnamese noodles. Highly recommended.

The location of the hostel is very near Hoan Kiem Lake. Its very accessible to restaurants and shops even the fruit market. Breakfast is a consistent French bread and an excellent supply of eggs. Banks are also accessible. Exchange services is available at the reception (at an acceptable forex rate). Fronting the hostel is a convenience store which resolves emergency needs on food and drinks. Rooms are quite big for a solo traveler. The comfort rooms are amazing with bath tub and hot shower. But basic toiletries are not provided. The noise of the air conditioning unit in my room is stressful at first but tolerable after sometime. You can also avail of the tour packages at the front desk. However, it's a little expensive compared to surrounding tour operators. If you have time, you may inquire tours from the many operators in the area to get the best rate. Overall, its a good option in Hanoi, Vietnam.

We spent 2 nights in this hostel. The staff is very friendly and helped us booking a trip to the perfume pagodas and a 2 day 1 night cruise to halong bay. Breakfast is included although there isn't much to choose from. The hostel is relatively clean and the double bed is huge! It is well positioned for the main attractions and close to many restaurants. Good value for money.
