“Great location, excellent service.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2013

This is a great hotel. You can't beat the location: near to all of the central sights, shopping centers and restaurants. I stayed for 5 nights there last March. The price is very reasonable for such a well- equipped and comfortable room. The breakfast is ample. I enjoyed Vietnamese styled breakfast like Pho, Banh cuon very much. The staff are so enthusiastic and helpful! One receptionist even helped me to buy a package of Vietnamese dried green tea called Che xanh when I told her I heard about it from one of my Finnish friend who came to Vietnam last year and would like to taste it but didn't know where to buy.

This hotel is on a quite crowded and busy street at the heart of the city, though.

All in all, I was totally happy and satisfied. Will definitely come back next time!

My father and i stayed at the Old town in May 2013 for 4 nights. I stayed in room 401 at the front of the hotel which was a little smaller in size than my fathers room (402) but more than adequate. A little bit of noise from the street but when located in the old quarter i think this is unavoidable. The hotel is well located and has plenty of restaurants, beer houses and shopping options within walking distance. The rooms were spacious and clean and good overall value. Nhung and all the staff were friendly and extremely helpful. We booked our trip to Halong Bay on the junk for 2 days and 1 night through the hotel and was extremely happy with the package provided. A great stay and i look forward to my return.

I stayed at this hotel in May 2013 for three nights on the last leg of our journey in Vietnam. It is located in a bustling area not far from the busy Old Town lake. On weekends there is a street market that runs all the way from the lake to just near the hotel. During this time cars and bikes are off limits in the streets. All staff were very friendly and spoke excellant English. I would recommend this hotel and look forward to coming back here in the future.

I spent 3 weeks there for business and alone. The Hotel is at the center of Hanoi, my room was comfortable, clean with an efficient wifi. The staff is a young dynamic team, really carefully and available, I received lot of assistance from them. When i will come back to Hanoi i will go to this hotel again :)

We visited Hanoi in the group from Japan and stayed at this hotel for several days.
All their staff attended us very carefully and kindly.
The location of the hotel is also nice for both traveling and doing business.
There were some minor problem in some furniture when we stayed, but (according to my friend who lives in Hanoi,) it remodels these days and has improved enough.

We arrived from Hong Kong the day after we should have done having missed our connection but we were not charged for this. The hotel booked a trip to Halong Bay for us and were able to leave our bags at the hotel overnight. They also booked our onward train journey to Hue plus a pick-up from the airport on arrival and all these arrangements went without a hitch, The hotel is right in the middle of the old town so lots going on outside. But there was no noise in our room.
It is easy to get everywhere from the hotel - well situated. There was a computer in our room which didn't work but there were two other computers to use in reception so that wasn't a problem. Room spacious and clean. The breakfast was very basic but enough to get you started for the day. The only downside was that the hotel was on the first floor so it meant climbing a flight of stairs. From reception there was a lift to the upper floors. If you are wondering what currency to take to Vietnam don't bother with travellers cheques. We found it difficult to find a bank that would cash them. There are ATMs everywhere so go with a card and a few US dollars. Can't thank Nhung enough for all her help. Good luck with the baby!

Stayed four nights at Hanoi Old Town Hotel mid April. The location in the old town was good.close to the weekend night market and just around the corner from the big day market.its a 10 minute walk to the lake and 20 minutes to the Cathederal. The old quarter bustles with lots of action and interesting old buildings. This hotel has friendly and helpful staff Thuong and Nhung at reception were very helpful in suggesting places to visit and in organising taxis from the hotel.(taxis are very cheap and the company they recommended were very honest in direct transfers.) the rooms were clean ,airconditioning quiet, bathrooms with shower good stayed in room 401 at the front of the hotel large double bed but a smaller room than others on my return stayed in room 202 which was more spacious ..both rooms at the front of the building which is subject to some street noise but for me to take in some of this street action was ok...
Note that there are stairs to the first floor reception then a lift to all other five floors including the resteraunt on the fifth floor.Breakfast was Ok but don't expect a full engish breakfast you get enough to start your day with coffee or tea.
Booked a Halong Bay three day two night thru the hotel ...On the" Imperial Junk Cruise" which I could recomend as a meduim price cruise run by Vietnam Open Tours ..the room on the boat was good clean with good hot water for the shower a large window and comfortable bed.the staff on the boat were helpful and efficent.. 3 days and two nights was just perfect...I stayed two nights on the Imperial Junk and didn't spend a night at Catba island (which some didnt enjoy)
Overall I would recomend this hotel and their friendly staff if you want to stay in the old part of
Hanoi.with a budget price .
Ps A forty minute wait in line to visit the Ho Chi Minh mausoulem was an interesting experience!
