“Great Old Quarter locale, comfy beds”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2013

Booked this hotel for our return from Sapa for one night but arrived back from Sapa first thing in the morning so paid an extra half day's tariff to check in at 5am. This included breakfast. Have heard this is the norm in Hanoi so after 12 very long hours on the train back from Sapa we were happy to pay. Rooms were ready, they were expecting us and check in was very straight forward and friendly. We booked a suite at the front of the hotel with a balcony (rm 801). Huge room, huge bathroom. Not much Vietnamese character at this hotel but very nice rooms with all the mod cons including a small room service menu (the kids used this). We booked a second room for our kids. I think it was a "deluxe" room (805). Smaller than ours but a very good bathroom. This room was at the back of the hotel so no noise if that is a problem for you. We negotiated a slighter cheaper rate for the two rooms, so bear in mind if you are a walk-in that this is possible. Friendly staff, pretty good breakfast including pho of both persuasions. Not the cheapest and it is more of a "western style" hotel, but fantastic location and nice staff. BTW, there is a small gym and contrary to a previous review, it has air-con - you just need to switch it on yourself as with most places in Hanoi, they don't leave the air-con on all the time when a room isn't being used. Thought this might be useful to know.

Room Tip: Suites are really big with massive bathrooms, balconies and king beds.

Good location ,just 5 minutes walk to Old Town. Good size rooms, great bathrooms. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet was plentiful although sometimes not accurately labelled. Air conditioning very efficient. Good gym (but no airconditioning!).

Stayed here the second night I was in Hanoi. Paid $60AUD for 1 night including Breakast and WiFI (Room 204) in a standard room. Very good offering in comparison to what else is available on Hanoi. Location could not be faulted, on the doorstep of a real Hanoi experience. Staff are very friendly and courtesious and willing to barter which is sensational. Strong WiFi signal, gym, great rooms and excellent service. International standard hotel for third world prices. Overall brilliant

We stayed here for four nights. The room was quite small, but the air con was quiet and effective and it was clean and well laid out. Our booking included breakfast which was nice and the staff were very friendly and helpful. It this hotel is in your price range, I think it is a very good option. If you are staying for a while and need a bit of space, pay a bit more for a bigger room.

Authentic Hotel a great location in the old quarter to explore this amazing city. Great rooms and highly efficient air conditioning, breakfast buffet very good and the most friendly staff who cannot do enough to help. Rooftop restaurant offers some good food, but you may want to experience the local restaurants first wow!

Room Tip: We were on 8th & 9th floors and they were excellent very quiet

I spent two night in this hotel to visit Hanoi, and despite the general noise in Hanoi (like in almost every city), the room was calm, and it was a real pleasure.
The rooms are modern, well equipped, and the staff is nice and helpful.
Wifi is sometimes tricky, but between your room and the lobby, there is always a way. Not all the rooms to have a window with a view outside..if you are sensitive to this kind of things, please advise reception upon arrival, so they can change your room. Breakfast is nice.
