“Fascinating!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2013

Walking in the Old Quarter is like being in a totally different world. The streets are narrow and very busy. One can buy streetfood on every corner and the food is very tasty.
It is very interesting to see what can be transported on a scooter, or I might say, what can't be transported?!?! There are not many cars, but the traffic is very hectic and it is very noisy there.

It's not a place I would spend many days, but I love to spend a couple of days there on my way to another destination.

“Complete madness but fantastic!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2013

It's been nearly two weeks since I visited and I can still hear the scooter hooters! Take your life in your hands and cross the road. Have a coffee in one of the many cafes (all provide free wi-fi) and just watch life unfold in front of you. It was an amazing experience. Go there before it becomes too much like Ho Chi Minh.

“crazy !!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2013

This felt like another world! Hustle and bustle of motorbikes and scooters. This is literally go with the flow. I have never experienced such organised chaos. Stand still for a while and take every thing in - amazing place!!

“The true heart of Hanoi”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2013

It is old, sometimes dirty and smelly, noisy etc., but we thought it was the true heart of Hanoi. Allow yourself at least half a day to wander around the narrow streets with all sorts of shops, restaurants, bars etc. You could do it by taxi or cyclo, but you will see and experience a lot more if you walk!

“Great color and cut in Hanoi!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2013

I arrived in Hanoi with a horrible head of hair. Based on various posts, I chose Lan Salon situated in the Sofitel Plaza in Hanoi Vietnam. It was Sunday at 3 pm and he booked me at 3:40 pm. We discussed my color and he replicated perfectly. I showed him a photo of the cut I like and he also replicated it flawlessly. Mr. Lan speaks English very well and, importantly, understands neurotic hair details! I travel all the time and have two hairdressers who I love in Zimbabwe and Italy. Mr. Lan is right up there with them! Go ahead and get your hair needs taken care of here in total confidence. Lan's team of gals will take care of you (they will eg. give you tea, pedicure, magazines and make you laugh). It's a great place, not at all posh, but perfectly suited to any global travelers needs!
