“HCM Mausoleum”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2013

Packed full of Vietnamese "pilgrims" and tourists usually the waiting time is pretty long. The visit itself lasts about 2 minutes. Ho Chi Minh is laying in an open coffin while visitors pass him in an eternal slow flow without stopping. It's worth a visit but lasts only short time. Many locals say that he was replaced by a wax figure a long time ago. The mausoleum is closed in November, opening hours are 8 to 11 daily except friday.

So well organised to get in, didn't take long, nice gardens surrounding the building . Needed more information or perhaps and area with information about him - photos of his life

“Alright for free entry”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2013 via mobile

We went to the Mausoleum as it was rated on here as a worthy place to visit. It's a good place to walk around for less than an hour, but I wouldn't call it incredible. We saw ex-president Ho Chi Minh, and the one pillar pagoda. Expect very strict entry conditions including baggage removal, and camera/phone removal further in. A tip for women - ensure your knees and shoulders are covered or you won't be permitted entry.

“Impressive”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2013

Before you go in make sure you know all the rules before going to the Mausoleum. Women need to have their shoulders covered and big bags are not allowed in as well as cameras. There are lockers to store all of your things. But as long as you put your camera in your bag you are fine. They have guards watching you at all times. The line to the Mausoleum is LONG but moves quite fast. There really is no signs of the rules so when you get to security check point you get told things. I must say the staff at the Mausoleum are very unfriendly and rude. I asked a question and they just pushed me on or completely ignored me, this happened twice to me. They yelled at people for doing something they didn't know they weren't suppose to do. This is the first thing you do when you get to the whole Ho Chi Minh Complex and it really leaves a bad taste in your mouth. I must say they are efficient when you go in the Mausoleum and the Mausoleum is impressive. It is kind of peaceful walking through but it is very fast and then you are ushered out again. It is free and interesting to visit just beware of the guards and don't let the line scare you it really isn't that long of a wait.
