“Scary guards but exhilarating experience”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2012

Very stringent getting in process because you get checked and you leave your cameras with the guards and that's expected because Ho Chi Minh is a revered icon in Vietnam. Not much to do except look at Ho Chi Minh's preserved body; good for an experience but can be skipped.

“beware of opening times”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2012

Only open for certain periods through the day. Check this before planning a trip.
Big crowds there too.

“Makes you wonder...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2012

After seeing 'him', you get to see the residence where he spent his final years. Somehow I find it hard to imagine that a man who led such a simple life in the end, would want to be stuck in an air-conditioned vault that's guarded 24/7. Please let this hero rest in peace. Oh... And don't go on weekends, school holidays or local holidays unless you fancy a bit of shoving and pushing.

“Glad we did this”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 8, 2012

We weren't sure we wanted to take the time to wait in line to view Ho Chi Minh's body, but we're very glad we did, just for the experience. It's quite sobering to see the reverence the Vietnamese people have for their departed leader.

“Very imposing building”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2012

I've always had a thing for really large and interesting buildings and since this one was close to were we were staying, we decided to pay it a visit. Good thing I made my research first as they have a lot of rules for visitors, including a garment interdiction i.e you're not allowed to wear tank tops or miniskirts. You're not allowed to take photos either, so thumbs down for that. Its their right, I won't comment on that, but it would've been nice to be able to take some photos to capture the architectural marvel of this attraction. There's no fee required as well, and the outskirts of this temple are also beautiful. Do visit if you're truly interested in Vietnam's history and culture!
