“Amazing hotel and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2014

This is the perfect place to stay while in Hanoi. The place is really well kept and beautiful. Well decorated and clean! Staff is the highlight of this place - everyone is helpful and super friendly. Location is good, only a block from the lake - good access to touristy sightseeing as well as restaurants. Would highly recommend!!!

If this is your 1st time to Hanoi, this hotel is a good choice. They provide airport transfers both ways (FOC), service staff always ready to help you, English speaking team, breakfast selection was simple but great, the staff in that b'fast restaurant provides personal service and touch.

Only negative point is the morning public chanting which starts from 7.30am to 8am - so if you're staying in the corner room with a balcony - that would be a great wake-up call.

Make sure you check out Halong Bay.....a must go....

Other than that - definitely thumbs up!

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the main street.

We booked for 3 nights with the Meracus Hotel. We visited Vietnam for our 2 weeks honeymoon and Halong bay was the last thing to see. When we arrived from the airport, tired and ready to fall asleep, the staff welcomed us with flowers and balloons in the room, along with a yummy cake! The staff was definitely the cherry on the top; from the bellman to the front desk ladies, nothing to complain about: helpful, smiling, polite, fluent in English. They went beyond our expectations. They helped me to book a cruise for the Halong Bay at a very competitive price. They kindly agreed to change USD for VND at a fair exchange rate, on the last notice. They kept our luggage while we were on the cruise. When we went back, they offered to let us take a shower. The room, even though with few natural light, was super clean and beautifully furnished. The buffet breakfast in the morning was solid, with western and Vietnamese culinary options and plenty of fruits, pastries, salads ( I am from Vietnamese heritage, and their pho was excellent). SUPER YUMMY! I would definitely recommend this hotel and would book there again for our next stay in Hanoi!

Room Tip: ask a room with a large window if any!

The hotel is great, rooms and bathrooms looking new and clean, spacious. Staff was always friendly and helpful. I would recommend that you ask them to pick you up at the train station, and they will for free, because it's almost impossible to get a taxi when the night train from Da Nang (where we travelled) arrives. The hotel sends someone to fetch it for you! I would say that the most important thing in a Hanoi hotel is - appart from basic cleanliness and comfort - the location and this one is the best: right in the Old Quarter and also near the lake, which makes it easier to get elsewhere in town. Very nice stay!

Great hotel in the shoe district of the old quarter, Hanoi.
Word can't express how fabulous & accommodating the staff are here!
We were a little late in booking a tour to Mai Chau & the entire team pitched in to ensure we were able to go on tour...and found us the BEST tour guide ever!

They alway helped us with our luggage, our post, airport transfers & hints n tips.

June & the rest of the team became like family to my friend and I...we will very much miss them. Oh...and breaky was great too!!!!!!
