“A nice restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2013

3 days ago, my colleagues and I went in this restaurant. The staff there was very nice and friendly. She patiently introduced and recommended some dished for us. The food was great. If i have chance to visit Hanoi again, i will definitely go back to this restaurant.

“Lovely food - pub atmosphere with a shop at the back so not the best place for a romantic meal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2013

The food we had here was some of the nicest we had in Hanoi. The Bun Cha was amazing and they have a good cocktail menu.

if you're looking for a quick meal or just somewhere to have great Vietnamese cuisine this is the place. If you want a long, lingering, romantic meal then maybe not. It has a pub feel and has a travel agency at the back of the room with people coming and going all the time so the atmosphere is definately lost a little.

“Very good restaurant. Try in particular spring rolls with fish & herbs.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2013

This is a very good restaurant. It has a lovely and genuine ethos behind its name (which could on appearance look cliche) - which is that it seeks to balance yin and yang essences in food, sweet and sour, and so forth. A lot of the food has Nothern Vietnamese influence.

I have to in particular recommend the dish that's one of their specialities, and appears at the top of the fish page. Fresh spring rolls, which are "do-it-yourself" (in terms of constructing the rolls.)

The platter comes out with the rice paper, grilled fish with galangal - which is amazing, and vermicelli noodle. And then slivers of ginger, chilli, cucumber, carrot, and a feast of fresh herbs - dill, coriander, mint, etc. The waitress demonstrates how to roll them in the rice paper to construct, which is easy. The taste is sensational. Literally the best spring rolls in town. Down to in particular the galangal with the fish, and the myriad herbs, chilli, ginger, carrot and cucumber balance.

The atmosphere when I was there was the only let down - it wasn't humming. Although it should be, and deserves to be.

It's a few doors down from other popular restaurants in Ma May. And I would recommend highly.

“Everything Fantastic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2013

How can you go wrong with a place where the food is amazing, the beer is COLD and the bathrooms extremely clean? We had the spring rolls to start followed by the Bun Cha. Yum! And the service was excellent, too. The waiter took the time to show us the proper way to make our spring rolls.

“Feel compelled to write a review”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2013

The young waitress spoke very good English and recommended the house speciality, red snapper with galangal. The individual components arrived and looked amazing and the friendly waitress showed me how to eat the dish and spoke to me about the balance of flavours and how the restaurant was famous for them (hence yin & yang). I can recommend the dish and felt the need to write this review. Food was amazing only surpassed by the service. Thank you!
