“Excellent location and great staff!”
27 thg 11, 2014
We stayed here for 3 nights while visiting northern Vietnam. They have very big and clean rooms in a great location in the old city. The rooms were inexpensive and included a great breakfast. The staff were very helpful with organizing tours around the area and when we went to Sapa for two nights, we were able to store stuff at the hotel for free!

Liked: Great security with our bags and the Deluxe Double Room with Big Window see on the Street and Computer in room and breakfast chicken or beef noodle soup and fried rice and bread and drinks on the 8th floor where everyone can look down the old town (left overnight for Ha Long Bay trip). Location in Old Quarter was good, walking distance to Hoan Kiem Lake. Staff were the best!!! Gave good maps, places to eat, tips on how to get to sights. Atmosphere was very friendly, especially after travelling to Ha Long Bay with some other people staying here. Very clean, no problems with showers, but pressure was a bit low. Good value for money. Would stay again. Computers good and free. Wifi good. we are thank with Manager Mr.Philip show me very funny in Happy Backpacker's Hostel.

One of the better Hotels in this area of the old town. Perfect location with short distance to local restaurants, market shops, the Hoam Kiem lake and other sights. And of course right around the corner for all the bars and nightlife of Hanoi, but dont need to worry about noize and disturbance since most of the bars close at midnight. The Hotel has a nice lobby which made most other packpackers that i met pretty jealous. Very nice TV room with Bluray tv and a lot of new Movies already in the harddrive. A good pool table exist as well. Staff are friendly and are more than glad to help out. Very good at helping you with your travel bookings as well. AND LETS NOT FORGET the Breakfast!! Best Hotel breakfast ive had! A mix of hot and cold dishes, with a nice dessert!

Room Tip: get a higher floor for better views, and further from the elevator .

Staff were very friendly, helped us book our coach and trip to halong bay, despite trying to haggle we got very little discount and felt a bit ripped off talking to others after. 2 dead cockroaches in room but guess it is central Hanoi! What was nice that you feel it's a proper family run place and was lovely seeing the friendly children and little baby. Also kept our luggage there the night we were at halong bay for no charge even though we weren't staying the next night. Overall good!

We stayed here for 7 nights. Originally we booked 4 nights, than went on two trips organized by the Hotel and always wanted to come back for another night in Hanoi at the same place as we just found it very relaxing and charming. The staff took care about everything, even when we forgot a bag on one of our trips, they managed to send it to our next location in Vietnam. The breakfast was excellent, the charming girls at the breakfast spoke several languages and Anna, Eric and the rest of the team just handled everything for us. So in sum: we just loved it! In addition the location is central to everything to discover Hanoi and to take part of the buzz of this very charming city!

I booked happy backpackers in Hanoi on the basis of leaving it very last minute and because it had acceptable reviews on hostelbookers. Booked an 8 dorm, deciding against a 10 or 16 bed dorm as I wanted to get some sleep. Turned up at midnight off a flight and was shown into a 16 bed dorm. At the time I didn't click I had been ripped off, went to sleep, and only realised my mistake in the morning. Fine, I thought, I'll just let them know the mistake they made, and they'd move me to the correct room in the afternoon when they could.

The women on reception's response was that I was in fact in a 8 person dorm as there was a wall sticking out into the room separating the '2 8-person dorms'. That was just complete lies as there was only 1 bathroom for all 16 beds which in my mind makes it one whole dorm. Her response was that there was a bathroom on the first floor (the dorm was on the 5th), and just refused to move me, so I left that morning though I had booked 3 nights.

Just all round upsetting and pointless. In addition the rooms were cramped having so many beds wedged in, there were far too few charging points for so many people, only barely had WiFi in the rooms and it kept crashing and I had to wait 60 minutes for the bathroom as of course all 16 people needed to use it. All round rubbish considering the quality of other hostels.

We would like to inform that the wrong judgment about my dorm, this article assessed the drug's competitors or have someone write, we do not have 206 rooms. My dorm bed only collective and not individual rooms, please delete misjudge this for us, thank you
