“Pretty good place to stay! ”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 15, 2013

We stayed here for four nights, chose this hotel as was one of the few fair prices decent rating ones advertised on hostel bookers. We were arriving after a 30 hour train ride so wanted a destination to head for. On arrival the guy managing reception didn't know we had a booking, luckily I had the confirmation from hostel bookers on my email stating the room we had booked, nights and due amount once check out. The taxi driver did try to get commission also but the reception guy declined! We had already booked so very cheeky of the taxi driver as expected though. Once room sorted, we were very impressed by it. We had a deluxe double, hot water, tv, wifi, kettle, fridge and own computer! Not what we had been used to from back packing around Asia. Everything was great about the place apart from the sewage type smell we kept experiencing coming from the bathroom drains. We aired the room all day when out by leaving the windows open but the smell soon crept back in during the evening. The staff were pretty friendly especially the lady she let me print my flight documents free of charge. They let us leave our luggage there too before our flight to Thailand. We pre booked our taxi to the airport which cost just over £10 which was reasonably fair and avoided us being ripped off by any scamming taxis. The location is excellent, we needed no taxis during our stay. We walked everywhere and saw so much more!

We booked the 'Deluxe Double Room' and paid around USD 16 a night and still believe the room worth less. Humid, mould (see photos), obvious waste water issue with strong sewer smells from the bathroom. Very noisy as the hotel is on one of the busiest streets of the Old Quarter and the room window doesn't shut properly. And the breakfast couldn't be more basic.
Staff is friendly. The lady at the reception helped us to confirm our halong bay tour by calling the company.
The hotel is indeed 10 min away from Hoan Kiem lake and Highway4 (great restaurant).
If you are on tight budget and can't find a better deal, you might consider booking this hotel. But keep your expectations very low.

We cannot begin to describe how much we enjoyed our stay at the Hanoi Millennium Hotel . It was such a great location and the room was clean and spacious. All the staff were so helpful and friendly and a special mention must be given to Mr.Ben who made our stay in Hanoi fantastic.

This hotel is fantastic for the price, and very well located. They are very helpful and will arrange anything you need them to for you. The car that they arranged to pick us up from the airport didn't arrive, but we think that the taxi company was to blame, not the hotel.

Room Tip: Our room was on the street and not too noisy, but if you're a light sleeper, you may want to ask...

Brilliant location in the Old Quarter, very friendly staff who helped us with our 2 children and let us leave bags for a few days and extremely reasonable prices for such a modern, central small hotel.
