“Luxurious Hotel in Hanoi”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2014

We stayed one night on our way back from Halong Bay and Cat Ba island waiting to travel back to Colombo. The hotel is extremely good and one would like to stay there for a week or more without even going out. Excellent service, Excellent rooms though a bit small, Excellent food and facilities.

The hotel is perfectly located for tourists, nearly everything is within walking distance, good restaurants nearby...

The hotel itself is 'wanna be hip', the rooms very dark and the cleanness just okay (we had a long black hair on the toilet which was only removed after I complained). Standard rooms are pretty small and the bed itself huge - which makes the room even smaller.

The gym isn't well equipped for the hotel category.

At least breakfast is very good, wide selection.

Next time I would stay at the 'Metropole' closely, because that's really stylish.

The breakfast is very good--a highlight of the stay. Location is great, and so are the bathrooms in the rooms. The room itself--too dark. If you want a bright, welcoming room, then this one will not work. If you like dark, club-like rooms, then this is great for you.

Room Tip: Maybe get a room facing outdoors.....not the atrium. Might be brighter...

Part of the Accor Group, so we were expecting a high level of hotel and weren’t disappointed. Our initial room allocation was on the first floor overlooking the street, and was extremely noisy, so we requested a change and were given one overlooking the atrium, on the fifth floor, which was a good swap, as the noise level reduced to zero.

The bed was effectively two separate single mattresses on a superking base, but extremely comfortable. The room took some getting used to given the unusual decoration. I wasn’t particularly enamoured, but my wife loved it – as with most city centre hotels the room was quite small – a Deluxe type, but well equipped, and the walk-in shower (no bath) more than adequate. The lobby area was airy, and comfortable to sit to have a drink, and the breakfast worth getting up for.

Its location is a major plus, about 10 minute’s walk from the ancient city, the Water Puppet Theatre and the lake, around the corner from the famous Sofitel Hotel, and walking distance to any number of superb restaurants, the Opera House and shops.

All in all a very good hotel and location from which to explore Hanoi.

Room Tip: For less noise go higher or overlooking atrium

We stayed here for 5 nights for a conference and had two adjoining rooms. We loved everything about this hotel. The beds, the food, the kind and helpful service at front desk and the sheer comfort of the hotel. My only tip would be to stay in a room higher than the first floor as it can occasionally get a bit noisy below in the restaurant area. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Best thing about this hotel is the location, about 5 minutes walk from the Hoan Kiem lake. Pool was refreshing after a day out in Hanoi but it's to small to do any laps in.

The staff were helpful in making restaurant reservations and helping with taxis at the hotel. Room was extremely comfortable and would not hesitate to recommend this hotel if staying in Hanoi and you wanted some higher standard accommodation
