“If You Want to Pretend You're in a Paris Hotel, Stay Here.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2014

You could be in a small hotel in the quarter Montparnesse and pay about 150.00$ a night.
Or you stay here, and pay 18.00 for the same thing.
The hotel was built by the French probably in the 1920s- and then renovated by different owners over the years. But the bones of the hotel are the same: great winding marble staircases with old wooden banisters, high ceilings, wood furniture, good beds and as quiet at night as a dream in space. With
breakfast included. And attentive and great staff.
For my money, this is where I want to be. And I'd come back.

The Rooms are very clean. The interior is quite charming and staff is helpful and friendly. The owner speaks english fluently and is very helpful when it comes to giving directions.
Our breakfast was good as well. The price is unbeatable. I would always come again.

Decent place with reasonable rooms (clean, comfortable, secure) for the price although shower left a little to be desired. The breakfast wasn't up to much but not a huge issue given everything you've got in the vicinity (and especially the street food!). Friendly staff who will book tours, train tickets, etc. for you. Would stay again.

I felt extremely comfortable with the staff at camel city hotel. They were exceptionally hospitable and friendly. What is more, they arrange for airport transfers (both ways) with prices that are affordable and very competitive. Their Ha Long Bay tour I went for was also a very reliable package tour. The location was very convenient - not too far off from Hoan Kiem Lake, the Dong Xuan Night Market, etc., and if one wants a hostel where you can escape the hustle and bustle of The Old Quarter for a nice, peaceful sleep, this is the location to choose! I will most definitely recommend Camel City Hotel to all my friends, and will choose to stay here again when I return to Hanoi. Thanks for the excellent service guys!

Decent hotel right in the heart if the old quarter. . Very clean. Free breakfast and very friendly staff. Fridge stocked with usual beers and soft drinks ,flat screen tv. Aircon ( although we didn't need as its cold in Hanoi in jan). Good budget hotel. Would stay here again.

They were warm and exceptionally friendly. We even called them our big bros of Vietnam, as we felt safe for first timers in the city. Also how one of them managed to fight for our rights and got back our money when a cab cheated us, we didnt expect him to go all out to get them back but instead we told him to keep it as tip for his troubles.

One thing nice about this place that they provide is family warmth.

Room Tip: Superior room is good if you are just going to sleep in but the suite has a nicer viewer of the city...

first off, the guys at the reception are always a pleasure to talk to and all have a great sense of humour. the rooms are clean and nice smelling, with nice decoration and soft ambient lights to make a pleasant vibe in the rooms. the hotel has a good and safe package tour for visiting halong bay and definitely not one of those scams where they promise you quality but deliver rubbish. one downside is that the hotel does not have lifts so staying on the top floors might take abit of effort climbing up the spiral stairs. location wise the hotel is near hoan kiem lake and smack in the middle of old quarter, near everything and within comfortable walking distances of the weekend night market as well. despite being in the midst of a bustling old quarter, camel city hotel is not noisy at all.

Room Tip: try and get a lower floor room if possible unless you have strong legs
