“Worst Hotel I have ever stayed at”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2011

You would assume that a 5 star hotel would have at minimum decent customer service, this hotel breaks the mold. When asked if staff could help me, a small female, bring my luggage up to my room they refused. Further more, the hotel was cheaply finished, they put in all the things to get them a stamp of 5 star but it is far from deserving. The elevator broke when I was in it, I pressed emergency button but no one came, it fell four floors to an unfinished basement with no doors, when I told the staff they simply acknowledged it.

It is not close to anything, no restaurants, so you are forced to pay the $30 per meal price. No one smiles at you or is friendly. Terrible. The entire Canadian Education fair was there, and each guest reported similar experiences. We will not be returning.

Room Tip: Please do not stay here, you will have to drive 45 minutes to get to downtown.

Well, my company and this hotel had a discount agreement so I could stay here not paying much. I didn't like its lavish decoration but the room was spacious, breakfast was good, staff were very kind too. Overall it was convenient and comfortable experience, but I wouldn't say "perfect" or "wonderful" for this hotel... there's something missing in it. And if you are a tourist I recommend you to stay near the old quarter.

I stayed at Grand Plaza Hanoi for 4 nights and the hotel itself is just WOW. Imagine a high rise tower - inside French Lois 14 style crammed with the latest technology, beautiful rooms with stunning views over the city and a bathroom to die for equipped with the latest L'Occitane creams and scents.

Actually I thought such grand style is tacky but because the hotel is so spacious, well run and well taken care of I actually loved it. The service and staff are great. Everybody speaks English and gets out of his way to make you comfortable. The breakfast is great.

However, you should have US dollars, they don't exchange Indonesian Rupias for exmple.

Only downside,- the hotel is far away from the city centre and the traffic is mad...even compared to Jakarta standards. The surrounding looks like a brand new city development in the making. A bit boring... However: If you are not in a rush, stay here and spoil yourself! Its definately unbeatable value for money!

Room Tip: Smile a lot ;)

Stayed here during my recent business trip to Hanoi. This is a new Hotel which is less than a year old. Establishment is by Korean and runs by Korean. Koreans are extremely fast and prompt in service, but locals mentality seems different.

Parking extremely adequate, and drivethrough space is more than ample.

Lobby, is extremely grand, for the price range. Cafe and lounges tasetfully furnished and furbished. The breakfast spread, at Le Jardin, however leaves a lot to be desired, as it seems to be catered more for Korean tastes, than others.

Deluxe room, definitely a lot bigger, grandier than some other Hotel's executive rooms. The best I have encountered at such a price range. Furniture seems expensive and comfortable. Internet however, seems non existent as sockets for internat either not terminated properly or the pin plug does not fit (my colleages have the same problem).

Gym looks like a small stadium with a running track, weight machines, free weights etc, indoor 25m pool, spa, massage center, relax room. Facilities extremely new, and hardly been utilised.

Very impressive business center, with at least 6 meeting rooms, of variable sizes. Great place for business.

Restuarants business except for the Le Jardin, leaves a lot to be desired. Some revamp of name and dishes served need to be seriously considered.

There is an adjacent shopping complex (not fully opened, and no anchor tennants) with sub-standard quality products at high-end prices and an office building above it.

Basically, this Hotel is wonderful at the price demand, however, the korean presence is overwhelming, with few other foreigners. I doubt that it can continue for long charging such low rates and believe that the level of standards and quality will greatly decline in a very short time. And except for internet connections, the business environment seems ok.

Nice Hotel, new with spacious rooms, excellent fitness center with sauna and steam quite nice and well appointed. Also a nice indoor swimming pool.
Staff quite friendly even if with some lack of experience being a newly opened hotel.

Few negative notes: Quality of the materials used for the construction of the Hotel and rooms decoration a bit poor for a five stars rated hotel.

I recommend this Hotel anyway for the absolute good ratio quality/price.

Good hotel and the location is near to Airport but not at the city center.

Rooms are good with all amenities like Gym, Pool, Hydralic Cycling in the pool, Sauna are excellent. Good aerial view from the 29th floor. This is not a bugeted hotel other than budgeted its worth for money. Preferable for Businees visit.

This place without doubt would have to be so bad, it has just opened, and everything is so dirty, it is still part construction site
the staff are very nice but appear to be controlled by these korean owners

The lobby bar is like the waiting room of a "gentlemens" club not the classy club but one of bad virtue
It says it waqnt's to be 7 stars..well get to 3 stars first
stay away. there are some great Hotels in hanoi..this is not one of them
