“Excellent Service , Amazing Staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2013

the staff were so friendly and very professional and helped us book our train tickets to Sapa and overnight stay at Halong bay. They also arranged transport to the train station and sent one of their staff with us to ensure we got on the correct train . the location in a quiet popular little street with no acces for the car, so its quiet. the room was very clean and comfortable, breakfast is good ,we would not hesitate to stay here again ! thank you ......

For about $25 a night, this was a good hotel to stay for 5 nights at the end of my Hanoi trip. The location is GREAT. Next to my favorite dress shop (Magonn - http://www.magonn.vn/, on Au Trieu, if you're an Anthropologie fan) and a great restaurant with "regular" food when I'm not in the mood for Vietnamese fare (Joma - http://www.joma.biz/, on Ly Quoc Su). It's a short walk down an alley to St. Joseph's Cathedral (known as Nha Tho Lon, aka the big church), and a pleasant walk to Hoan Kiem Lake and the Old Quarter.

The staff was nice enough. There was a breakfast, but I preferred to run out and get breakfast nearby.

I was in a room with 2 twins, so it was smaller than the other side of the hotel, but I didn't exactly hang out in the room all day so it didn't bother me. My bathroom had the fun shower/toilet combo going on, but it wasn't so bad. It's not exactly a 5 star hotel, but it's a good hotel for a great price and great location. The beds are kind of hard, but the comfort of the AC and the big tv to fall asleep to helped.

tho xuong lane is so thin our taxi would not fit which suited me fine, no traffic. the staff are so young and competent but mostly friendly and fun, the cathederal view rooms are great and there is a lift to get to them, don,t forget toturn on the hot water switch in your room, some things in vietnam are on a need to know basis but this is part of the appeal and so is the lady cutting up her fish for sale at the end of the lane.the restaurant at the hotel is as good as any where, so if you combine the location, the staff the food. the experience, this is an excellent hanoi choice, and if you are an english speaker like me, thereis a travel agent just doors away from the hotel called dongs travel the staff here are also wonderful, see narelle or ''mrs dong''

Room Tip: get the cathedera view rooms and don,t forget to turn on the hot water

This hotel was great, affordable, clean and very nice. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was amazing!! The first time I tried Pho was here and I loved it! The only problem we had was on our first night when instead of the double bed we had booked we were told that there were no double rooms free and were given a room with two beds, but the next day we got our double room so didn't mind that one night that much. The location is absolutely amazing, right in the heart of the old quarters and lot of restaurants around but the rooms are still very quiet. Recommend it!

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the top floors of the hotel since the floors close to the reception got a bit loud

Booked with the Splendid Star Grand Hotel when we arrived they told us it was full but put us next door in the Splendid Jupiter which was fine. Peter was very attentive to our requests, clean room, good amenities, two free bottles of water daily, breakfast average but plentiful, only issue it's VERY close to the old church which we thought was great until we went to sleep, the ring the VERY loud bells every 2 hrs all night long, Peter said sorry but we will get use to it, sorry we didn't so after our Ha Long Bay cruise we had to book a different hotel.

Was the best place where I have been in Hanoi, the manager is very nice and helps you with all your needs. The rooms are clean and the service of the hotel comes when you need their help. The free breakfast is more than enough to star your day.

Do not have anything nice to say about this hotel. We booked the hotel Jupiter well in advance but when we arrived we found that the staff had decided to put us in the sister hotel -when we said that we did not agree we were verbally abused. It then took some time for them to prepare the rooms we actually had booked, Once shown them they can only be described as shoddy and unclean but by then it was late evening so we had no choice but to stay the night. We made a formal complaint about a certian staff member and stated that we would return to the hotel (following our pre booked Halong Bay visit) only if the rooms were fully cleaned and that we did nit have to deal with the abusive staff member again - he was made to apologise to us and we did not come across his again.

On our return the rooms had be cleaned but were not at a high standard. Other issues breakfast was a very poor choice, we had a very scary experience on the ride back to the airport which this hotel was responisble for arranging and their web site actually lies about a roof top bar!! Only positive we have is that apart from the incredibily rude and obnoxious staff member who greeted us the rest are very helpful,

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else!!
