“Tourist hotel near to few attractions”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2011

Pro: A tourist hotel just in front of one of the major shopping centres (Vincom Tower with lotsa foreign brands & cinema & restaurants), near to Hoan Kiem (walking distance less than 30 minutes), very near to local & international food attractions (Ba Trieu, Pho Hue, Trieu Viet Vuong, Mac De, Vincom. etc) & lake (Bay Mau). The standard rooms are small so is priced affordably for tourist with major attractions within walking distance. You can get all kinds of food in surrounding area from local to eastern and western including fast food.

Con: No swimming pool (got one but 99% of the time no water and its really small abt 5ft X 5ft in size so cant be classified as a swimming pool more like a bath tub). Sauna facilities are bad. Odour due to cooking in the restaurant kitchen finds its way to the rooms on the right wing (after exiting lift) and the lifts especially in the early morning. The restaurant morning buffet is pretty fixed everyday.....instant noodle, bacon, corn flakes, porridge, just local stuff not something you can live with for long stays.

The real complaint is the ongoing construction work noise (drilling & hammering) next door (a norm to see construction everywhere in hanoi) even on weekends. Make you feel like getting out of the room n not stay in. And never make any taxi reservations at the front desk to the airport, wanted to avoid hassle of looking outside, real bad experience tat one....very pricey (hotel charges higher than norm) and the taxi driver paid less by hotel (~50% of wat u paid hotel) so the driver come asking for tips at the end of the trip to make up his loss.

Room Tip: ask for rooms on the left wing (upon exiting lift) and try to go for rooms on upper floors > 6 fl...

Really good location. Ten minute walk to Lenin Park which is fantastic to walk around in the early morning. Close to a major shopping centre which has a supermarket and food court in it so you can get all your supplies. Included breakfast was great - and they cooked your eggs fresh for you! Small rooms but great space age showers! Very friendly staff.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2010

I come to Hanoi on business every other month or so but my normal hotel was booked. This was my first experience with this hotel though I have stayed in the area (next to Vincom Tower) near this hotel before.

This is not a back packer hotel. This is a fairly nice hotel that has some somewhat elegant charms from its marble clad lobby to its heavy solid wood furniture. While my room (a single) was very small, the furnishings were all of very high quality. The room felt smaller since it had a large (Queen or small King) size bed in it. The mattress was a little firm for my taste but far from the hardest I have experienced in Asia. The linens were also of good quality. The whole place was very clean. The internet may be the fastest that I have experienced in Asia other than Japan. The location is pretty good if you have business in central Hanoi but not the best for tourists though not very bad either. The location next to Vincom Tower allows for upscale shopping or easy access to a variety of restaurants and a grocery store. The hotel staff were very nice.

I would hope that the double rooms are much larger than the single because the single was very, very small. The breakfast was disappointing for its overall quality and the lack of replenishment but the omelet, pho and coffee are good. I did not experience the pool because it closes early.

I would stay here again.
