“Excellent restaurant, great view and great service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2013

We booked the restaurant for a family dinner, and accepted a table outside as the restaurant inside was full. What we did not expect was the cold wind at sunset. Issue was solved with the restaurant providing us with bathrobes from their spa - great service - we could then enjoy our good meal!
We tried the beef and chicken pho, the bamboo beef and the springrolls - all great food.
For dessert we had the home made ice-cream and brownie - again great taste.
Will be back at our next Hanoi-visit!

“Fabulous Dining in Hanoi”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2013

I did my Trip Advisor homework and booked a stay at the Hanoi Elegance Diamond for our stay in Hanoi. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that The Gourmet Corner Restaurant, the restaurant located on the 12th floor, also received excellent reviews. How convenient. I have to say that the food, service, price and atmosphere were all great and we found ourselves eating there several times during our stay in Hanoi. The restaurant offers traditional and contemporary Vietnamese dishes as well as dishes for the western palate. I recommend making reservations for dinner as the dining area is cozy. Since we were already staying at the hotel, our breakfasts were served in the restaurant. Woohoo! Big thumbs up for this restaurant. I am still dreaming about the awesome French Toast, homemade yogurt, Bo La Lot, and especially the Nem Xoi Chien (deep fried sticky rice spring roll served with roasted pork). Sigh.

“Beautiful view, excellent bistro food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2013

First, a comment on Trip advisor and its ratings and a disclaimer.

I really like the Gourmet Corner, but I’m doubtful it’s Hanoi’s ‘best’ restaurant. If best means fancy food and wine, then I’d say that it’s not up there with Koto, La Badiane, Pots’n’pans etc.
Just because something comes in a ‘1’ doesn’t mean it’s going to be something that everyone loves.

But if you want an honest, inexpensive meal in a spectacular location with good ambiance, clean toilets, respectful, enthusiastic staff then the Gourmet Corner should top your list.
We ate here a lot on our holiday, because we were staying at the hotel, because the food was good, the view amazing and the staff efficient and cute.

Snow and Twan in particular are really sweet and try as hard as they can to please you.
There are a mix of traditional Vietnamese meals, a little fusion and some western dishes. I loved the sea bass in cream sauce, the carrot and ginger soup and the spring rolls. I had the chocolate cake one night – yum yum yum.

We also had breakfast here every day, again, polite staff, good array of food and an every changing view.

I enjoyed every meal I ate at the Gourmet Corner.

“great experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2013

We went here for a night away from the street and we really enjoyed our meals, if you are looking for street food food this not the place as it more of a modern presentation.Service was good and staff very friendly to us.
