“Just ok”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2012 via mobile

Tough steak, oily vegetables. Absolutely nothing to write home about. Prices high for Vietnam. Very little atmosphere.

Lovely rooftop dining above the Hanoi elegance diamond. The best Nem Hanoi we had, fantastic staff & a lovely terrace bar to enjoy a few ales.

“Great views”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2012

We went here primarily for the view, and found it interesting, specially for the sunset and illuminations down by the lake edge. Not exactly pretty, but getting above a cityscape is always worth it when in foriegn lands. As for the food, there was a very extensive menu covering Vietnamese and Western cuisine, with nothing terrifically challenging and all well prepared.

“Great food, lovely setting and friendly staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2012

I booked a table at Gourmet Corner based on Trip Advisor reviews and was not disappointed. I asked for a good table with views of the Red River as it was my husbands birthday, as a result we also had balloons on the table and staff sang happy birthday complete with a Cake and candles. I hadn't asked for this but was impressed by their efforts, especially to see my husband do embarrassed.
The food was amazing, the beef in bamboo was lovely. All a great value for money. Would recommend a vist, somewhere slightly away from the hustle and bustle at street level proving great views of the city and a nice little outside terrace bar for drinks before dinner.

“12th floor of hotel - nice views but...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2012

This restaurant is not on a corner... As a heads up. So if you are looking for "charm" don't be misled. That having been sad has very nice views of the surrounding city from the top floor of the hotel.

Food was otherwise good. I had only simple dishes for lunch (spring rolls) so defer to other reviewers.
