“Generous & Friendly Staff makes this a Great Value to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2013

We have just returned from a 5 weeks' vacation overseas & during that time we stayed at the Hanoi Symphony for 2 nights & we found the staff very helpful & accommodating. They came highly recommended through a friend & they lived up to expectation.
They arranged for our trip to Halong Bay & when we arrived back with an hour to spare before caching our flight to HCM we were given the usage of a room to freshen up. They also arrange for pick-up from airport & departure too all a a very reasonable price.
We highly recommended this hotel.

We only stayed in Hanoi for one night at this hotel, but we received more than a week's worth of service and guidance. From the first day of booking our stay, they answered questions about planned trips to Sapa and HaLong Bay and gave honest recommendations. And when we arrived in Hanoi, they graciously arranged for pick-up, stored our luggage and let us use their hotel as a place to rest in between our Sapa and HaLong Bay trips. This place is an AMAZING value, even in Vietnam where you become accustomed to bargain prices. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and well equipped with Wifi and A/C. But the biggest selling point by far was the wonderful hospitality we received from every staff person we interacted with at the hotel. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone planning a trip to Hanoi!

We’ve stayed in many hotels in different countries, the staff here is the friendliest and the most helpful one we’ve ever seen.

We stayed for three nights. Reasonable price and great location. It’s really nice to have a computer in every room.

The hotel manager Cuong is very helpful and considerate. He offered us a late check out time, we booked for 1 room for three people and he upgraded us to 2 rooms without extra charges.
The Halong Bay tour (Vspirit) recommended by the hotel was excellence. They gave us discount and the best cabin. We were worried about the safety at the beginning, but felt relieved when Cuong said we can pay when we came back.

The downside is the mattress and pillow was too hard. Beside this, I highly recommend Symphony Hotel and the Vspirit tour to all tourists.

The staff were VERY nice and helpful.

We contacted the hotel in advance regarding a pick-up car from the airport. When we arrived a driver has been waiting for us, holding a sign with our names. He took us to the hotel, and during the check out we found out we were charged 17$ for it - a very fair price (we calculated that with a taxi driver that won't cheat you it would have costed more).

We also asked the staff's help regarding laundry. The price was 30,000 Dong (about 1.5$) per kilo, and eventually we paid 10$ for 7 kilos of laundry, which arrived less than 24 hours later, smelling great and neatly folded.

The location of the hotel was very good, and you can basically just walk around the old quarter from there (no taxis needed). The room was also totally ok, and it was nice to have an internet connection over real PC (the wireless was also good).

When we left for a trip to Halong Bay for 2 nights they suggested we leave our big luggage at theirs, which we did. Needless to say, it was safe when we came back. Furthermore, on our check out day they offered us a late check out at 14:00, and when we were there at 18:00 before catching a train to the south they offered us to go up to the room and take a shower before our ride.

All in all, really good value for your money and we are for sure recommending it.

The only downside is that the mattress was quite hard, so those of you who like soft ones should take it into consideration (on the other hand, so far all the mattresses we encountered in Vietnam were like that...).

Room Tip: We were in room 502, at the upmost floor.

Highly recommend staying here in Hanoi at the value end of the market - nice room with good decor, very clean, excellent wifi throughout the Hotel.

The service here was top notch, staff always welcoming, very good English too.

I had my Halong Bay tour booked from the Hotel after shopping around ( Vspirit 3D 2N) which was excellent, they also made sure I got a great cabin on board, stayed both nights on the boat and didn't have to pay until later to ensure I was satisfied.

When I returned, I had a few hours to kill before catching my train to Sapa and they let me use a room to shower and relax for free!

Then offered to come in and have breakfast when I returned from Sapa, despite having checked out a week earlier, very impressed.

Booked 2 nights, stayed 4.

We stayed here for a couple days. The place is not super fancy but the staff is great, the rooms are clean and has a great location in the Old Quarter. The owner is very knowledgable about the area and also with regards to trains/buses out of town. The price was a little more than what we were normally paying but still cheap at CHF 18/night. They also offered breakfast in the morning at no charge and there are desktop computers with internet in the room. Make sure to have some directions/map as it could be tough to find given the sign is a little hidden.

Great location in old quarter within easy walking distance of lake, restuarants etc. Staff very friendly and helpfull at all times and keen to protect us from any unscrupulous taxi drivers etc. We should have let them arrange airport pickup for us (did at every hotel after this) as wouldn't have got ripped off. Also they could have booked Halong Bay trip cheaper than we did thru agent.

Room Tip: Some street noise in lower front rooms, but not excessive.
