“Excellent Hotel which gives value for your money”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 10, 2011

Hotel is conveniently located with a very polite and helpful staff. Provides an excellent buffet breakfast. Neat and elegant rooms with clean beds giving a fresh feeling. Would prefer to return to the Hotel during my next trip to Hanoi.

I stayed in this beautiful hotel for 6 nights during my visit to hanoi. The hotel staff are all very friendly, and they have gone that extra mile to make my stay in this hotel very comfortable and enjoyable. I must commend the effort of two hotel managers, Mr Eric and Ms Nguyen Thi Cha. They have helped me to book for tours to halong bay and the perfume pagoda. They took care of all the arrangements for me, and made sure that I have enjoyed my tours to these destinations. The customer care and service I received from conifer hotel is simply marvellous! I will definitely come back to this hotel in my future trips to hanoi.

Upon arrival the staff could not find our reservation through hotels.com. We spoke with their booking service, who found our prepaid reservation. Unfortunately, the room we purchased was not available, so we were upgraded. In the end very fortunate. Most of the staff were very friendly. Their IT guys needed to assist getting the internet to work in the room. If it worked in the room, it didn't work in the lobby. A minor frustration for me. The room was very clean and appeared quite new. Loved the balcony looking over the street. Breakfast was adequate -- providing something in all categories. Wonderful location. But we learned to take cabs, rather than long walks.

We stayed in a street facing room with a balcony. The room was lovely and well decorated, above average size, good bathroom, but no shower cubicle. The balcony was a worthwhile feature, and could fit 2 chairs and a table. The option of eating breakfast outside was a plus, staff were very friendly, and location was walking distance from the central market & opera house.
Negatives - Food at breakfast was very limited relative to the rest of vietnam, no gym/fitness area. One slip up, was when we were told were being billed $100 for a shower head that fell off when we switched on the water. Rather than apologise for the poor fitting, the staff were adamant and weren't listening. We asked to speak to the manager, who was finally able to resolve this diplomatically. Shame we had to go through it, so beware.

My wife & I spent 6 weeks prior to our trip researching hotels in Hanoi, before choosing to stay for 12 days at the "Conifer Boutique". The "Conifer" is located in a very upmarket part of town, surrounded by the Opera House, Embassies, Gucci, Luala and other High end establishments & restaurants. The staff are friendly, efficient & highly trained in hospitality, & the food from the "Conifer" restaurant is magnificent, (My wife teaches hospitality & cooking in Australia), so nothing went unnoticed. We recieved a very friendly welcome, and our arrival date was also my birthday, on noticing this in my passport, staff especially made a birthday cake for me. The rooms were quite big enough for us, and the balcony off the room provided an excellent spot to drink Vietnamese coffee & watch Hanoians going about their day to day lives. The hotels' location means a peaceful & quiet setting, but you still experience the rhythm and vibrant nature of this wonderful city. This hotel was far over & above our expectations, & we are planning on staying there next year.

Room Tip: Book a suite or deluxe room
