We booked a superior room (room 702) for 5 nights and the hotel and room itself is nice for a 3 to 3.5 star hotel in SE Asia. They are clean and spacious enough for a couple on holidays. It is also a stone throw away from Hoan Kiem Lake & Hang Gai street and various other shopping streets if your into that sort of thing. The staff are friendly and courteous.
The breakfast buffet includes both continental and cooked meals, so there's plenty of fuel to start the day on offer.
If you have a room with the window facing the main street, ensure there is no traffic noise. Otherwise, pack some earbuds. We found our room very noisy and it made sleeping impossible as the car horns didn't stop until 11pm and starts again around 5am. On top of this, at 6.30am a general community announcement is made on the city speakers for 30 mins.
Although we booked for 5 nights, we were fortunate for half of this time, we were away cruising around Ha Long Bay. Otherwise, we would have enquired about another room or at the very worst moved to another hotel.
