“Lovely stay! ”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2014

Great location in the old quarter so walking distance to main attractions. The rooms were clean and spacious. The staff were lovely and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The breakfast was tasty too and you can order more than one dish if you want. Would recommend this hotel if you're staying in Hanoi.

We've stayed at this little hotel a number of times over the last few years. Great value for money but what really makes the difference is the quality of the service. Mina and her team go out of their way to assist - booking accommodation in other locations, train tickets - even opening up at 4.15am after an early train arrival! The rooms are okay, maybe a little tired now and could do with a refurb. But, the hotel is in a great spot, really quiet in the heart of the Old Quarter. Overall, the Hotel Charming is a good option for a budget hotel in a great spot!

A small narrow 7 storey hotel tucked away in a city centre laneway. Great service, friendly staff, always happy to help out, decent breakfast, although could do with a little extra options. Most floors have two rooms, one at front and the other at the back, which I would recommend the latter if you prefer a quieter room, at the expense of a balcony with street view. The room with bathroom, albeit small, is clean, has a comfy bed, comes with a pc (includes free internet) and study desk, Also includes complimentary coffee and tea with kettle plus a safe. You can't go wrong if you're looking for a budget accommodation.

This may be a long winded review but this place deserves the recognition.

The staff make this hotel. From arrival you are greeted with smiles, fresh juice and fruit with a cold towel too. They greet you by name and are genuinely interested in what you have done that day. They were so helpful in booking our Halong bay trip and train tickets. The bell boy even came with us in the taxi to the train station to assure we didn't get on the wrong one. Upon checking out we went out for more sightseeing, when we arrived back we were giving another room to freshen up and relax before our night train.

The breakfast is great and lots of choice, whats more is that you can order all of it if you want. The rooms were great. All of the mod-cons with even a pc in the room which is great for trip planning. The bed is comfortable and gave us the best sleep in Asia. The location is right in the heart of the old town and everywhere is easily accessible.

All this for backpacker prices, you would be crazy to choose anywhere else in Hanoi.

I ended up staying a week at the hotel and got to know the place pretty well. The rooms are clean, large, have wifi and it's in a great location but the best thing has to be the staff. Mina and the team are great, always smiling and willing to help. They arranged scooter hire, flights, taxis all at no extra cost. Great place. Oh, and breakfast (eggs and the rest) is included in the price. Can't beat it for value for money. Thanks guys and girls.

My fiance and I stayed here for 4 nights in February and to this day I still think about the service we received from the Charming Hotel! Everyone knows you by name, including the staff that did not check you in.

The property is located in a small alley that's pedestrian/scooter only and may be a bit hard to find on your own. However, once you've arrived, there are excellent eateries all around, including Pho 10, a Bun Bo Nam Bo, and Banh Cuan stalls. Train and Bus stations are also close by (40K Dong taxi). If you have the time and with light luggage, it's also walkable.

The wifi worked consistently and the breakfast was great - choose from pho, pancakes or american breakfast.

We've had some pretty good hotel stays around Vietnam was Hotel Charming was definitely one of my favourites.
