This hotel is in an excellent position making exploring Hanoi on foot very easy. Our room faced the street and had a small balcony - wonderful for people watching, although meant that we had constant background noise as Hanoi is a city that never sleeps. This certainly didn't detract from our experience as we were able to watch all the waiters meeting up at the mobile ice cream/sweet bar which set up just outside once the restuarants closed.
The room was large, clean and comfortable and the hotal staff very eager to help - after being dazzled by the range of trips offered to Hanlong Bay we opted to make a booking through the hotel - reasoning that they wouldn't want to be associated with a poor service provider. This worked well and meant that we spent time sightseeing rather than negotiating with travel agents.
Breakfast menu was limited and service was a little slow but this is only small point and certainly wouldn't deter us from staying here again.
