“Charm in Old Quarter”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2013

Staff are extremely pleasant and helpful. Hotel is clean and very comfortable it offers all the usual traveller requirements. Hotel is close to the lake, shops and restaurants in old quarter. Food in the restaurant is good although expensive compared to local restaurants.
The only downside was that on the day we were leaving the power was off for the whole day (through no fault of the hotel) which meant couldn't have shower or keep cool before going to airport.
Watch out for 3% surcharge on credit cards.

Room Tip: Front rooms overlooking street can be noisy

We spent four nights at this hotel and loved it. Location is perfect, near city center for walking everywhere but on a side street with lots of small shops that really give the feel of the city. Management also arranged a one-night Halong Bay cruise for us that turned out to be beyond expectations, just like the hotel. Our executive room with king bed (unbelievably comfy) was perfect in size and arrangement. We were pleasantly surprised to find a laptop with internet connection. Everything extremely clean and modern and windows are thick and keep street noise to a minimum. One of the biggest pleasures was the top (12th?) floor restaurant with view of the city, including beautiful in-city lake only a few blocks away. The dining room was light and bright, windows on all sides, and it made meals special. Breakfast buffet is included in room price and is extensive - Vietnamese offerings as well as yogurt, bread, sliced meats and cheese, coffee, tea, lemon and orange juice, beautiful fruits - enough variety to make everyone happy. The restaurant is open to the public so recommend a reservation if dining in the evening. My husband and I felt special throughout our stay and would recommend the hotel to even the most discerning of travelers. Staff was universally efficient and polite. A big plus was a pre-printed flyer provided by reception desk on which museums and other places of interest were listed along with hours of operation. Really helpful. Cannot think of even one area in need of improvement - maybe the waiting room for spa could have a little better ventilation but that's it. My husband's massage heped his back, BTW.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and it was the best hotel experience of our 9 week trip throughout Southeast Asia. We read Tripadvisor reviews and hoped it would be as good as the reviews had said. In fact it was better. This cute boutique hotel, which is so perfectly located, goes out of their way to make you feel comfortable. It all starts with the doorman that says hello to a hard working front desk that can't do enough to make your stay feel comfortable. We chose the junior suite option and are so glad we did.The room was amazing. It was very spacious with a welcome bottle of wine, daily fresh fruit and water, and a free stocked bar every day. The room was equipped with all the little things that make it incredible. There was even free laundry service which was folded and ironed and delivered the next day. The also arranged for our visas and had someone waiting to pick us up at the airport. The hotel arranged out 3 day 2 night cruise to Halong Bay with IndoChina Sails. We left our luggage in the room, went on the tour, and returned to find out we had the same room on the top floor and our luggage was waiting for us in the room. Now that is service. I wanted to find out where to get some vegetable carving accessories. The hotel said to leave that to them to find. When we returned to the hotel they had gone out and purchased it for me. This hotel has figured out customer service and goes out of their way to make your stay a memorable one. I will never forget my stay at the Hanoi Elegance Diamond. It is the best hotel in Hanoi.

Room Tip: Choose the junior suite option since you get an upper floor which is quieter.

Stayed here for one night as part of a trip around Vietnam-great hotel with suburb location for all aspects of Hanoi. Would definitely recommend to others. Rooms are very spacious and of good quality- staff are very helpful as was the airport pick up.

Thank you staff for making our stay a memorable one. They are warm, friendly and accommodating. Personally, I would stay at this hotel again. Hotel prices are reasonable. Room and Bathroom is very clean. A little rooftop bar and restaraunt with reasonably priced red wines.

We stayed here for 3 nights over Chinese New Year (Tet) and highly recommend it for its location, spacious rooms, tasty breakfast and especially it's friendly staff. We were overwhelmed upon our late arrival to find the room set up with balloons for our son in his cot and scattered around the room. A lovely touch! They treated him like a king essentially baby-sitting him throughout breakfast for us. The location was fantastic, right in the heart of the Old Quarter and a short walk to all the attractions. The staff even issued us with a revised attractions and restaurants opening schedule over the public holiday period.
