“Cant imagine staying anywhere else”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2009

Stayed 4 nights at the Hanoi Elegance 4 and what a great place. We had been dropped off at Elegance 3 with the rest of our group since the majority were staying there. We were then walked to #4. During the walk over I was starting to wonder....where are we going ? As we approached a small alley I really started to wonder what I had got us into. But once we reached the door, I knew all would be well.

In amongst some older buildings is a really nice hotel. We were warmly greated by staff who were eager to take care of any need we had. We were then taken to our room (605) which is a Jr. Suite with a balcony. The room was awsome with two beds (only needed one), your own computer (no need to wait for one in the lobby), flat screen tv and plenty of room to move around. The room was very clean and comfortable.

The view from the balcony was good....although you do look at some older buildings....and the balcony size was actually very big.

Like I said earlier, the staff was amazing. My wife called the front desk about getting some laundry done and they were at the door in less than 2 minutes !!! They also arranged a shortened tour for us and the tour guide they picked was fantastic. I really dont think there is anything they cant make happen for you.

If you are looking for a place to stay in Hanoi, you just cant go wrong staying here. Oh ya, the hotel ( #4) was less than one year old at the time of this writing.

The reviews below are all correct - this is a great mid-priced hotel in Hanoi. The service the staff provide really is excellent - way beyond what we expecteed even after reading the other reviews. You are made very welcome, they frequently check everything is to your satisfaction and they are very helpful with any requests - e.g. arranging cookery courses or meeting you off the train from Sapa at 4.30am. Breakfasts are good, rooms are not huge but adequate and the location of Elegance 4 is very central. From talking to other travellers in Hanoi it seems the experience is repeated at the other branches. Lots of expensive hotels could learn a few things from here.

This really is a great little hotel perrfectly situated to be your base in Hanoi. My room which was a twin was quite narrow (I bumperd my head on the TV a few times!) but really well equipped. Bathroom had a huge shower and was spotlessly clean, the bedroom floor was wood/laminate which had a nice cool & clean feel. The in room internet was useful and I enjoyed my daily complimentary fruit plate!

The breakfast at the hotel was fine, the vietnamese coffee providing me with a jump start to the day.

The hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful, and arranged my airport pick up and drop off ($16 each way) as well as a one day trip to Halong bay, which was my personal highlight, I just wish I had time to make it an overnight/2 day trip.

My only small criticism is that on occaision the 'helpfulness' went over the top. For example my friend who is a teacher in hanoi came over to see me one evening on his bike. The hotel staff insisted on taking the bike and locking it in the breafast area. My friend would have been happy to lock it outside but the staff would not take no for an answer. In the schem of things this is a small gripe and my overriding memory is of lovely cool haven to return to after a hot and sticky day of sightseeing...

Believe all the reviews, this place was wonderful! Genuinely friendly, helpful staff. Good location in the middle of the old town, but down a side street so it's quiet. Free breakfast is good, but not fantastic. We requested a superior double room for 2 nights, but it wasn't available for both nights so we stayed in the double for the first night and the junior suite the second night. Both rooms were nice - the junior suite with balcony was definitely bigger than the superior double but I don't know if it was worth double the price. We reserved a 2 day 1 night Halong Bay tour on the Red Dragon through the Hanoi Elegance 4 and it was fantastic. Would definitely stay again!

The staff were all very friendly and helpful, although our key was lost on the first night! The internet didn't work very well in our room. The room was a great size (we paid more for a better room which was probably worth it), the hotel was okay, only 1 lift. Breakfast was average. Right in the heart of the city.

The Hanoi Elegance 4 Hotel exceeded our expectations. We stayed in a Junior Suite room and it was perfect. Dzung was amazing, he looked after everything we needed, from organising tickets for the Water Puppet Show to booking the Halong Bay Ginger cruise. The staff went our of their way to make sure you enjoyed your stay and had everything you needed. The hotel is in a great location within walking distance to everything. I would definately recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to stay in Hanoi, it was fantastic.

From the minute we arrived we were greeted with a friendliness and charm which continued throughout our short stay at The Hanoi Elegance 4. We opted for the junior suites, superb rooms with a balcony overlooking the small street below, great first thing in the morning to watch street come alive. (It could have been a Hollywood set)
The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable, very up to date. The bathroom couldn’t have been better and included a walk in shower/wet room and an abundance of toiletries.
Surprisingly we had a desktop computer which included free internet access.
The staff were the icing on the cake; they were all extremely friendly, helpful and enjoyed a good laugh. All of our trips were arranged by the hotel, including an overnight stay on a junk in Halong bay, highly recommend.
It was sad to leave the Elegance, we took a train to Hue, (the hotel arranged our train tickets and provided an escort to the station to ensure we took the correct train) to continue our adventure.
Hanoi Elegance 4, we will be back!!
