“Reliably Good Hotel with World-Class Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2012

I stayed at the Hanoi Elegance Ruby for two nights and was warmly welcomed by Mr. Dong, very friendly receptionists, and a delicious carrot juice after traveling 24+ hours from New York City. The staff are excellent at what they do, whether it's ensuring you have a phenomenal breakfast to touring the city on your own. The rooms were immaculate, equipped with IBM laptops, wifi, and rain showerheads.

We stayed at the hotel and everything was perfect. We also stayed at other hotels in Hanoi but they were no match. You will not find more value for money anywhere. There service and friendly staff made us feel at home. I also forgot my camera in one of the taxis and somehow the staff managed to get it back for me. Quite a miracle. Thanks for. The nice stay!

Excellent hotel, I agree with the previous reviews. We stayed there for 2 nights. They offered to us a larger and quite luxurious room at a very discounted price. As in many other places in Vietnam, the quality of the accomodation is up to western standards, and in this case absolutely above western average. The personnel is very kind (in particular the guy at the reception, Luke, and the hotel manager) and helpful. The breakfast was excellent, served with great care. They were also very kind in helping us in getting in touch with somebody we needed to contact, and in the last day they offered to us to take a shower after we went around for the whole day leaving the baggage at the hotel. Really excellent hotel and service, congrats.

Room Tip: Ask a room in the upper floors, and ask for those with balconies.

First, this is not a big hotel, no big lobbies, no shops, etc. It is small. When I first arrived, I was a bit worried, because I often stay in large, expensive hotels. Since the arrival, things have gone good, better, perfect. The service and friendliness is real and genuine, and nonstop. The room has a good working air conditioner and heater, that is silent and works quickly. The room is small, but functional, with free wireless, and a fairly big bathroom, with a great shower, steady flow of hot water. Everything feels clean. The staff takes care of everything, and you can completely trust them. The winner is the breakfast. I pushed them to the breaking point, ordering first a fruit salad, croissant, cereal and yogurt. Then, I ordered an omelet, french toast and orange juice. (I was super hungry). With each order, they just smiled and gladly took the order. Everything was made well, soft fluffy omelot, warmed crispy croissant, fresh juice, etc.

We had reservations at the Sofitel for $300 per night, which were messed up by the sofitel, so we "had" to come to the elegance ruby. Boy are we glad. We saved $1000!! AND, the elegance ruby was literally perfect for us. We went to the sofitel for dinner, they were a bit stuffy, obviously super expensive, and not even in a great location.

So, I have to say, the elegance ruby kind of won me over, and the heart and soul of the vietnamese people touched me. Hopefully some day I will return.

Room Tip: Note, room 201 seems to have a noise that comes from the walls. Not too bad, but it is there. We l...

This hotel is in the middle of Hanoi's old city. From our perspective, the heart and soul of Hanoi is to be found in the old city.
Some more prestigious hotels like the Metroplole, the Hilton, the Sheraton etc are away from the old city. They also cost up to 6 times as much to stay in.
The staff of this boutique hotel provided some of the best customer service I have experienced in over 50 years of international travel. They combine authenticity with care and unobtrusive responsiveness. They could be a role model and case study in effective cross-cultural customer service.
The rooms were spotless.
I strongly recommend this hotel for service excellence at a most affordable price.

My family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children) used Hanoi Elegance Ruby as our base when we traveled to various parts of Hanoi. We stayed there for 5 nights and were truly impressed with the warm, personal service extended by all the staff. Not only were they efficient, spoke good English but extremely helpful as well. They helped with all the arrangements & bookings we made to Halong Bay& Sapa, making sure that all the details were carefully coordinated. Throughout, they were patient and very professional. When we were in Sapa, they even called to inquire if all was well, and sent a staff to wait for us at the train station when we returned at 6am. This was really beyond our expectation and we were most grateful. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. I feel safe & comfortable staying here.
