“Faboulous location, super staff, brilliant hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 10, 2012

I can't think of a bad word to say about this wonderful little gem of a hotel. The rooms are clean, modern and have everything you need. The staff can't do enough for you, they are informative, happy and very helpful when it comes to places to eat, things to see, booking tours. They have an area upstairs so if you have checked out you can shower and relax before you leave, they have thought of everything! The location is superb, you are right in the thick of things, great little street food eateries are around the corner as well as great restaurants. I'd go back again and a again!

I made my booking to the hotel about half a year before my trip. Quite soon after booking, I received an email from them telling me what they can do for me, eg book airport transport, tours etc. This was an excellent touch as you can start getting such essentials taken care of at the beginning by someone instead of a week before or during your trip by yourself.

I liked the location of the hotel. It's very easy to get to the popular street stalls such as Pho 10 and Bun Cha Nem Cua Be Dac Kim. Walking to the Hoan Kiem Lake is about 15 minutes.

The hotel makes good recommendation and they seem to take pride in telling you where to go and where's not recommended. We had them book the Water Puppet theatre ticket but the tickets to the evening performance was not available. They made regular attempts to go to the theatre to check on the status. We eventually went for the afternoon show.

The rooms were clean and sheets were soft. There's a safe in the room to keep your important documents. Shower pressure was strong and the toilet was clean.

Breakfast was quite good. You can order eggs, burger, baguette, pancakes and pho with choice of fruit juices and coffee/tea.

The hotel staff were all very polite, friendly and prompt in their response. You feel a sense comfort in their warm hospitality. I wish there's an in house spa for massages as the quality of massage in Hanoi was not great and I think the hotel may be able to manage this service well.

We stayed for 3 nights between trips to Sapa and Halong and couldn't of wished for a better hotel. The rooms themselves were good but the service was out of this world. On our return from sapa at 5am they did all possible (including finally offering us an upgrade for free) so we could get in a room early, as well as checki us into and printing boarding passes for our flight. Hanoi is a crazy place but stayin here makes it that much easier.

We only had one evening at this hotel on our way through Hanoi. The hotel is located in a lovely little alleyway that comes alive in the morning with various food being sold. We arrived at the end of the alleyway in a taxi and were immediately met by a member of staff who must have been watching the street for taxi's. Impressive! Check in was quick and they offered a lovely welcome drink.

We had booked a junior suite which was located on the 8th floor, we had only been in the room for a few minutes when the phone rang and the receptionist asked if we would like to move to another junior suite with a balcony which we gratefully accepted.

The room was spacious and exceptionally clean. Everything you need for exploring Hanoi. The thing that really stood out is how reasonably priced this place is. Water in the minibar was 1USD and laundry was approximately 50 cents per item. Unheard of in a hotel!

This hotel is perfectly located in the Old Quarter for exploring the city. Just walk up the alleyway to excellent local eateries. We had an excellent meal at a local place for two at a total cost of 7USD.

The only negative with this hotel was our departure transfer. We pre booked through the hotel a car to the airport and it was really stuffed up. Firstly they told us the car was ready at the end of the alleyway so we made our way out onto the street. The car had apparently gone around the block but didn't come back for about 10 minutes. When it did arrive and we had loaded our bags, the staff then asked us to get out as apparently it was the wrong vehicle. We then loaded our bags into a taxi and the same thing happened. When we settled into the third vehicle I'd had enough but thankfully that was the right vehicle.

Overall, we would definitely stay here again. The staff are lovely, very friendly and helpful and speak excellent English.

Set in the Old Quarter of Hanoi but an oasis of calm. We loved our stay in this elegant boutique hotel. The room was stylishly furnished and the breakfast was first class and from the moment we arrived, tired and weary, we were treated in a friendly and courteous fashion.
All of the staff speak very good English and not only were they very efficient but had a wonderful sense of humour and we enjoyed our conversations with them.
We had an initial stay of four nights and then a further night after a trip to Laos and on our return we were treated like long lost friends. It truly felt like a 'home from home.'
We would strongly recommend this hotel and its staff. Great people.

As soon as we walked into the hotel, we could smell something was off...

We were warmly greeted by name and asked to go upstairs into the lounge and served mango smoothies so that they could prep our rooms.

After approximately 15 minutes, the drink was ready and we were given a map of the city as well as some recommendations of where to eat. I had trouble understanding what the host was saying and he made some remarks which I thought were borderline rude.

I let it go, but could not let go of the smell of sewage in our rooms...

I'd recommend this hotel if you don't have a strong sense of smell and don't mind the difficult to understand "English" sarcastic remarks.

This was one of the best hotels and experiences we had in Vietnam, the staff were the best and so helpful in so many ways - helping with Halong Bay tours, general information etc etc.
rooms were awesome, best bed we had in all Vietnam, rooms were a bit small but very cosy with all the facilities you need
the location was great with a short stroll to the old town. breakfast was great, as its not a buffet (less waistage) they have everything on the menu however you are asked to select what you want.
I will advise and recommend friends and family.
