4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2009

I stayed here for 5 nights and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. For Hanoi, the rooms are a good size, as is the bathroom. It was spotlessly clean and very nicely decorated. The service at the front desk was outstanding; the staff was efficient, friendly and helpful.

The breakfast was very good for a continental type breakfast, offering yogurt, toast, fresh juices, coffee, tea, fruit, etc. The food was constantly replenished and the staff was friendly and efficient.

The amenities are pretty basic, but suited my needs very well. If you need anything extra, in terms of toiletries, iron/ironing board, umbrella, these things are all available. The one time I needed something delivered to the room, it was there within 3 minutes. The only thing I missed was a mini-fridge in the room.

Overall, I was extremely happy with this hotel, and given that I had gotten an excellent rate through Asiarooms.com, even better. Will be back!

Have just returned from Hanoi after a weekend break. Would recommend this hotel very highly. The location is perfect, easy walking distance to everthing. We have stayed a some great hotels around the world, but nowhere friendly than here. The staff are so welcoming and happy to help. Would just like to say thank you for a great trip.

We stayed at Hanoi Eden Plaza hotel last week . The hotel is small and cosy, in a very convenient location. You can forget about taxis and just walk everywhere, feeling the magic atmosphere of Hanoi. There's a great night market nearby taking place on weekend nights and near by Ho chi Min Complex . We went there and were the only tourist around! Just ask the staff for directions. After the first day we decided to book Ha Long cruise and a full day tour to Tam Coc through the hotel and we were very happy with both excursions as well as their prices. We didn't waste time on going around looking for travel agencies in the city.

If you need any thing , just ask the hotel staff, they are extremely helpful and for us whatever they recommended turned out to be just what we were looking for (sightseeing, shopping spots, restaurants).
Hotel has a free internet in the lobby and wireless internet connection in the room! Apart from that a big comfy bed, nice clean bathroom and mini bar with very reasonable prices :) Breakfast was also a pleasant surprise with delicious, hot and aromatic vietnamese coffee.

My advice to other fEllow travellers is "stay away" from this terrible hotel. The pictures posted on all websites are not real, the listed facilities like computer in suite room, buffet breakfast, daily fresh fruit, elevator.... are non-existent. Room is small and smelly, bathroom is tiny and always flooded each time you have a shower. We stayed there for three nights and bedsheet was never changed. We did not notice until the last day. Stained cups and saucers were never cleaned. Overall, everything looks old and dirty. Staff cheated when we asked him to buy a SIM card. STAY AWAY!!!!!

The hotel looks nothing like the photos provided - it is cold, extremely noisy, there is no free breakfast and it is NOT in the centre of the old quarter as stated (a brisk 20 minute walk to Hoam Kiem Lake). Very disappointing, although it must be stated that the staff are very sweet and try their hardest. Disappointing though and do not be taken in by the photos.

We booked the hotel via Wotif, and paid for it online, we received a booking reference only no other confirmation. We travelled via minibus from the airport to the hotel to be met by a man with my Wotif booking number who said the hotel was booked out due to a family with a sick children overstaying, we were taken to another hotel, much dearer, we demanded to go back to the Eden Plaza, and said we had already paid, we were told we hadn't & the Eden had no rooms, then everything changed and we were bundled into a taxi and back to Eden Plaza where we were shown to some rooms, not very clean, very basic with old fashioned key locks with big keys, this didn't feel safe, we could see no evidence of any other travelers and as we had children with us who would be in a separate room, we decided to go, the manager was upset and said he would take us to another in his hotel chain, Indochine11 and this would be nicer & he would get us special price!, It was an ok hotel, but we then paid $40us a night per room and with the $19 I had already paid it was the same rate as the rack rate!! Eden Plaza didn't look anything like the photos on the web. we got scammed big time. I have left feedback with Wotif --but don't stay here no matter what!

DO NOT STAY HERE!

We booked this hotel though Hostelbookers, it appeared reasonably priced and included a free shuttle bus from the airport. This was not the case. When we arrived, we were met by a person from the hotel. His English was limited, and told us to follow him to the shuttle bus. He appeared to be looking around for it, when a random public bus appeared, he grabbed my bag and tried to put it on the bus without myself or my partner. My partner ran on to the bus and grabbed it off him. He then said we could pay and use another shuttle bus service -we refused, however since we had a booking, we decided to go with him to the hotel (he paid for that shuttle service). When we arrived, we were told that we had to pay for the 3 nights, which we did, and then put our stuff away. When we returned to the hostel that evening, we were told that they had overbooked the hotel, and that we had to move hotels. They had also removed our belongings from the room.

Also while the place was reasonably clean, it does not look the pictures in hostelbookers website. Its location is also out of the old quarter, so requires a lot more walking to get to attractions

In short, this place was an absolute nightmare, I would not recommend it to my worst enemy.

Book somewhere else!!!
