“Great & Helpful Team”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2013

The service we received at Asia Paradise was outstanding. Lyn & Jen were fantastic front of house and they helped us out immensely when out (tour arranged) transport failed to turn up. Room was immaculate and perfect for a family.
Location great and perfect to come back to after a hectic day in Hanoi.

Room Tip: Suite was perfect for a family!

We stayd in room 402 for a few days from 18 december till 22 december 2012.
For 2 months there is a new owner. The staff is very friendly, especially Mr Vie.
He helped us to book a very nice trip to Halong Bay and also our trainticket to Hue.
The room was quit and clean and the breakfast was complete!
You will enjoy your stay in this cozy hotel.

The hotel is in a good location, close to the old quarter and the lake... Otherwise, it's a basic hotel, old, our bedroom didn't have window and many rooms are like that too, bathroom is old and dirty... The staff is nice. The breakfast not so good and many small cockroach run on table...No free water in the room, have to pay for bottle... Can find better for a same price.

So...this is a weird one. I was drawn in by the amazing reviews but with hindsight think I was being a little naive (which I am very embarrassed about being such a Trip Advisor regular). You need to check the reviews of it's previous name Blue Paradise too then you will get a better picture. Basically I don' t think the reviews written about this place are genuine, they have been accused of this before in their former incarnation. Also we stayed in a 'deluxe double' which looked nothing like the room in the picture - my boyfriend used to work for hilton and is pretty sure it's a photo off their website. Our room was actually very attractive with nice bright decor and really large, it was a little shabby round the edges, ripped cushion covers and dusty down the edges of the armchairs etc. The stairs and hallway also really need an update, and the stairs a good hoover. We booked through booking.com and our booking said we had a 'large balcony with city views'. This turned out to be a sliding door behind a grubby net curtain which led onto a tiny area full of dusty air conditioning units and pipes, you couldn't even get on to the 'balcony'.
Another weird thing, when we arrived at about 8pm we barely had time to put our bags down before we were marched round to the ATM to pull out ALL of the money in cash for our stay which included a night at Halong Bay cruise. This was about $400 in total which you can't even get out of the machine in one go. I had to then negotiate that I could pay half on my credit card. No one else on our cruise paid for everything front with their hotel. Also the night before we left we had already paid up everything but when we got in from dinner the only thing the nightguy could ask us was if we were all paid up and if we had anything from the mini bar, this was a constant question - have you anything from the mini bar, have you had anything from the mini bar?? The whole impression for me was grabby, grabby, grabby and a little deceitful...
P.S Don't even think about the cornflakes for breakfast, I think they have been sat there since the place opened, so stale.
