We are family of 5 and enjoyed our stay in this homely Hotel on 24-25Dec2009. Hotel Owner Mr An & staff especially Miss Van are very friendly & helpful. We enjoyed the freshness of their local fruits and French loaf for our breakfast prepared by his wife. We can feel their sincerity through their service and warm smiles. We joined a day tour in Da Lat organized by the hotel for our family. Timing was flexible and journey was very smooth and enjoyable. This was the Best Hotel stay during our 6 days trip in Southern Vietnam. A Big Thank you to Mr An family & Staff - from Kor & Family

A great little hotel with excellent owners and staff. Heaps of computers to use to book your next hotel and your can hire a motor bike for the day about $6, which is pretty good value.
About a kilometre into the guts of town so a fairly short walk.
Breakfast downstairs on a communal table so a good way to meet and chat with other travelers.
The owners even had Vegemite on the table for breakfast which was a good talking point for us Aussies. Reminds me I have to send them a jar as it was really expensive for the locals to buy in Vietnam (I think they told me it had to come from Ho Chi Min City).
To sum up - a really cheap hotel with cozy but comfortable rooms and very clean bathrooms. Would definitely recommend.

Well it is certainly difficult to find anything negative to say about the Thien An Hotel, in fact the only fact on the downside would be that its 10mins walk from the centre, well, in the cooler air of Dalat it was quite a pleasure, the owner and his family were very helpful in arranging trips and booked our air tickets to Saigon, and to my wifes great joy spoke french.!! the comfortable rooms with wifi and safe and the wonder of the breakfast table made the Thien An and our stay in Dalat a very memorable one.

we stayed here 3 nights and we enjoyed it really from the first second!!! hotel is new and furniture aswell. we had a big big big room with 3 big beds(160 cm each) and full window site with view above the city / but city is not the nicest; if you are travelling with a family #401 is very good, because it"s quite big, also for whom wants big room. bathroom is very clean and new aswell... shower is closed and big. NICE!!!... staff(small family) is great, helpfull and very nice. rooms are very very clean and are cleaned every day... all just for 20Dollar - including best breakfast i ever had in my life - with lots of fresh and DELICIOUS fruit and eggs, etc. Wow!!! we enjoyed really everything and it was the cleanest and best hotel we had in two weeks vietnam!
also you can rent bicycles for free and motorbikes for 6 dollar a day.
internet is included - there are 6 in the lobby, available until 10 pm every day. new computer , very fast internet and very modern.
you HAVE to stay here!!! but book in advanced, especially for the weekends.

It's all been said but i just wanted to put in my 2 cents' worth. This hotel is a bit out of the way but with it comes the quiet atmosphere. It's only a 10-minute walk to the centre of Dalat so worth the walk back to help digest a late night dinner. The breakfast was amazing, fresh fruits every morning. The owner and staff are very friendly and super helpful: calling for a hotel reservation in Saigon for us and negotiating for the best price and getting us to share a cab ride to the airport with other guests to save on costs... all this without even being asked. The rooms are small but very clean and bonus, there's an inroom safe that works.

And they have like 8 or 10 PCs in the lobby for free access to the internet, it's rare to see a minihotel with so many PCs!

All in all, a great experience and we would definitely return.

Hospitable, Refreshing, Exciting.... actually i am not getting the correct word to describe Dalat as well the hotel - Thien An Hotel. I have been a seasoned traveler who has been traveling around for quite some years. Most of these stays have been in 5/4 star hotel & being a hotelier myself, i think i have good taste in choosing hotels. After coming to Vietnam, i realized that you do not really have to stay in a 5 or 4 star hotel to experience the hospitality and culture of a place. Thien An Hotel is a perfect example. I booked by sending an email ( thienanhotel@vnn.vn ) which was promptly replied. They also arranged airport transfers at an additional cost which was quite reasonable. The owner and his wife were at the reception to welcome us and we were shown 2 rooms to choose from. One room with bathtub but slightly smaller than the other room which had two queen size beds with luggage rack, TV, Balcony ( No use as it was raining continuously), Minibar (very cheap with beers at US$ 1) and almost 36 sq. mtr. They have an AC too ( the only downside being that A/C needs repairing), well Dalat is always cool. The best part about this hotel is the nice breakfast which is really the best specially bcos the people are so happy to serve you. I loved Dalat and enjoyed every part of my journey and it would have been a sour experience without Thien An Hotel..Thank you, Thien An Hotel.. I will come and stay again with you soon.
Guys, forgot to mention the free WiFi with real good speed and all this you will not believe only for US$ 20 nett per night ( Including breakfast for 2).

This was absolutely our favorite hotel of our three weeks in Vietnam. From our first moment to our last we felt welcomed and cared for-and all for excellent value. I can't say enough about the hospitality of the family running the hotel. Please, please stay here and experience for yourself!!

The room was spacious and lovely with a safe, tv, nice bathroom, big windows (don't make the mistake I did and leave them open at night! the mosquitoes attacked!...but there was also an a/c unit with a fan function to provide fresh air w/o getting bitten!).

The hotel is a bit out from the center of town, but we found the walk enjoyable, and we explored different side streets to walk down each time. There are also a couple good restaurants nearby the hotel.

Breakfast was simple and amazing: eggs to order, fresh passionfruit juice, tea, coffee, a selection of fresh fruit and wonderful bread with a wide assortment of spreads, cheeses, etc. Every single thing was fresh and delicious. Definitely the best breakfast we ate in Vietnam (aside from steaming bowls of pho).
