“Close to the city center but noisy!!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2014

We stayed in the Fortune hotel for a few days and to be honest for us it was the worst we had in Vietnam. But let me start with the positive things. The personel at the reception and especially at the breakfast were very nice. The room was spacious and clean. The breakfast was fine, there were fresh fruits, bread, eggs and a lot of Vietnamese dishes. The location of the hotel is nice as well, close to the center.

We stayed at the toplevel and probably we were just unlucky with the people in the next room, but god it was so noisy! Honestly it was like they were screaming next to our bed, or close the door awfully hard. It was not normal, the positve was we were up pretty early ;) Further the shower was almost above the toilet and there was just a shower curtain.

Myself I would not go there again although it's not expensive.

We stayed here for 2 nights. For us the location was perfect as we managed to walk to all the attractions that we wanted to see and Dalat is so beautiful it's worth walking about and soaking it all up! The room was big and clean however, there was two massive square holes in our wall to the outside only covered up with a thin mesh which meant we heard all the traffic noise, which does stop later on at night. Also our room was on the top floor which was fine but there was renovation works going on around the roof area so if you are looking for forty winks after lots of walking and before dinner, forget it! Also the hot water tank is located on the roof so if the hotel has to put this on this is also incredibly noisy but they only need to put it on for around 45mins. We also booked a countryside tour through the hotel which we enjoyed. Staff were very helpful and breakfast was similar to the other breakfasts we have had during our stay in Vietnam.

Had two nights here on route. Great location, short walk to the market and lake. The hotel is very nice, plenty of kerb appeal. We stayed in room 405, a big room, very comfortable bed, flat screen TV, refrigerator, fast wifi, quicker than I have at home! There is no aircon but this wasn't a problem for our visit as the night temperature dropped quite a lot. Breakfast is served in the restaurant under the hotel. Many local dishes plus eggs or omelettes cooked fresh for you. All the staff have been great, booked a great countryside trip (recommended) and also our onward coach to the coast, cheaper than the officially recommended travel office in town. We paid €22 per night including breakfast, great value, would stay again.

The best part was by far the country tour of Da Lat we booked through the hotel. The guide was fantastic and the tour itself was great. Having just arrived from busy Saigon we were very grateful to being staying the The Fortune Hotel. The room was big and comfortable and the shower was hot with good pressure. There is no aircon but we didnt need it. Although it can be a bit noisy it didnt bother us too much. It is also walking distance the SinTourist office.

we stayed here for 2 nights and had rooms facing the road at the front which were noisy , early in the morning and at night from the traffic .. the rooms themselves were great , big super clean , great wifi , hot water and cable tv , comfy beds and nice bed linen .. the hotel is beautifully clean , the staff friendly and helpful especially Li Na on front desk . the lovely lady owner looked after the breakfast room , and there was a great variety of Vietnamese food as well as western , it was more than adequate and i enjoyed it very much . i would certainly stay at this hotel again ,its a good price and in a good position ,and next stay i would just ask for a room at the back to have a quiet sleep. Thank you Dai Loi hotel for showing us lovely Vietnamese hospitality .

Room Tip: a room away from the road

We stayed 2 nights in room 401 (8/1/14). It was a large room with 2 queen beds, tiled, clean with good facilities, including a safe and a flat screen television with lots of channels. The bathroom was adequate and the shower worked well. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. They recommended restaurants, called taxis when needed and booked a bus to HCMC for us. (Tip, if you book through a hotel, you get free pickup). At the desk one girl has better English than the others, so its best to talk to her. Even so, our enquiries about laundry service didn't get far. Buffet breakfast is included, mainly asian fare, but we enjoyed it. Location is quite good and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. Excellent hotel for the price, 672000 dong ($A36) per night.
