We are currently staying at this hotel, and let me start of by saying the hotel is lovely.
We arranged transport from the airport,( about 30 mins away). Our flight was cancelled due to bad weather and we arrived a day late.Having advised these changes from h.c.m. city I wondered if the car would be there to greet us,,(it was).
The staff are all friendly and the rooms large,
We are traveling with a 3 year old,and she feels like a princess in this hotel.
As mentioned in other reviews the breakfast buffet is a bit small, but the eggs were cooked perfectly and the croisants are the best I,ve ever had ...including in France.
So if your feeling cashed up for a few days its fun to play colonial..

History abounds.experience the luxury of yesteryear! Rooms were comfortable. Staff helpful.explore the surrounds....relaxing and fascinating. Breakfast was a letdown....poor selection. High tea was exquisite! Delicious and abundant!

Room Tip: Ask for a lake view room with balcony. Breathtaking views!

We stayed in this hotel for two nights. Hotel was built in 1916-1922 and was refurbished in 1995. They kept the old style which was a lovely change to the other hotels I stayed in in Vietnam.
The hotel is about a 5-10min walk into the city centre.
Rooms are a good size with a small old school bathroom. There is a bath with a shower head however no place to put the shower head so you have to hold it if you don't want a bath.
The rooms phone (old style) you can hardly hear anyone and it keeps cutting out, which makes ordering room service a bit of a challenge!
For a 5 star hotel the food was barely edible. I had the pancakes one morning in the restaurant and they were dry and stale. The room service dinner meals were not as bad but were not of up to standard when comparing to other hotels ive stayed at in Vietnam. Word of advice, don't order the cheesecake!
There is also no milk available for the tea/coffee facilities in your room.
The reservation team were very helpful and the golf course should be on your to do list for the keen golfers!
Larry's bar which is in the basement of the hotel is a must for a quiet drink and playing pool. Service in Larry's bar was fantastic.

Beautiful hotel with glorious views of the lake. Service was excellent, rooms spacious and decorated according to a bygone era.
Breakfast was not up to the standard one would expect of a five star hotel.

I was unsure of whether to visit Dalat on my recent Vietnam trip, but I'm certain the Dalat Palace was a key reason why I enjoyed it so much.

The hotel is perched on a hill that looks onto the lovely Xuan Huong Lake. The grounds are sweeping and very well maintained. The interiors speak to a bygone period, with colonial French details including a footed bathtub and traditional faucets in the bathroom. Though the design is colonial, what amazed me is the manner in which the property was maintained... clearly with care and love. Everything looked 'traditional', yet everything was functioning and operating perfectly.

The service was also excellent. Everyone made an effort to ensure we were comfortable.

Our only disappointment was that the front desk were only able to provide us with a 2pm late check-out despite the hotel being quite empty (we ended up playing pool in the atmospheric bar until our flight at 9pm). The catering is also very expensive compared to the local restaurants. Hint: eat at the lakeside 'Thanh Thuy' or 'Bluewater' restaurant... lovely views and a wide range of local food options at very affordable prices.

Despite the two minor disappointments, I'd strongly recommend this hotel as it will provide you with an experience that will certainly enhance your stay in Dalat.

This was a funny experience.Visiting Asia, we stayed at Dalat Palace Hotel and felt as if we were in the 19th century in Europe. Old place, old decoration, however having dinner in the dining room, we felt as alone master at home. This place is quite original, lost in the middle of Vietnam.

Our family of 4 stayed over Easter and whilst the interconnecting rooms were outstanding and worth staying at the hotel for this reason the food service is very poor. Breakfast is nothing more than what you would expect at a BB which does not fit with the rating of this hotel. One morning was buffet and the next was off the menu, we ordered pancakes and they all came out cold. We also had dinner one evening which was expensive and 3 stars and best although the surrounds are lovely which allows you to make up for it.

Overall a lovely hotel to stay at with lots of old world charm however they need to back it up with 5 star food service also.
