“Perfect Honey Moon in a beautiful Place”

My wife and I just returned from our Honey Moon in Phuket and we stayed at the The Royal Phuket Yacht Club for 10 nights. It is an absolute beautiful Hotel in a perfect surrounding. Never been to Thailand before, but will return for sure and will stay again in the same Hotel. Had the Honey Moon suite first and moved to another suite, which all picture perfect views and a terrace overlooking the bay and beach and it could not have been more romantic. As far as I could see all rooms have sunbeds on their terace and there is nothin better to get up in the morning or in the evening to ly outside and just enjoy life. Very peaceful location, but only a short 10-15 minutes drive brings you to the more crowded areas with markets and bars. The Beach itself is the nicest I have seen on Phuket Island and as the Hotel has a private section, we never felt to croweded and always got sunbeds right away. The Service and staff is excellent, from airport pick up (we arrived at 2am in the morning and they stil smiled and made you feel very welcome) to the Restaurant and Housekeeping. Breakfast had a good and huge selection and we really felt we could have not picked a better place for our Honey Moon! Best feature is really the most beautiful view from the balcony over the Bay and Beach! Will never forget that!

Just came from Phuket and must say that I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Yacht Club. Our room was spacious and the terrace patio was gorgeous, esp at night when we would sit on it and view the lagoon.

The staff was friendly and laid-back, which I prefer as I hate to be bothered. The food is great and the breakfast buffet offered a lot of options. I order in a lot and am vegetarian and the chefs made me some great tofu entrees that were not on the menu. My room service orders came quickly - that was a plus.

The beach was shared but the yacht club end was not crowded and I only saw two peddlers the whole time I was there. The water was soothing and crystal clear.

The Yacht club is a place for those looking to truly getaway from the hustle and bustle. Relaxing , quiet and peaceful are first words that come to mind when I think of our stay. If you're looking for excitement and partying (we weren't), this is not the place for you to visit.

I would definitely stay there again.

“A place to rest”

The Royal Phuket Yacht Club

Mar 6, 2008

We wanted a relaxing place to celebrate outr 20th anniversary, and also to come back from a stressful period. We found it.
This hotel is good. It is situated on one of the better areas of Phuket, Nai Harn (Han). The restaurants are only a few, the shops etc. - Going to Patong cure you from another visit there. People at Patong will not leave you alone. They can salute you in 4-5 languages. "Guten abend, Hej, Hur mår du?, Er du från Norge etc."
No this area is better, the facilities really nice.
Small but lovely pool, full service, attending staff - yes it took some days before they reckognized us, but we dicsovered that we stayed longer than many others - and we have seen almost all the other places (this was our 9th time in Thailand).

Apart from splendid breakfasts we didn't eat since we found a really good restaurant nearby.
Prices are a bit high at the hotel.

We found what we expected.

“Paradise!”

The Royal Phuket Yacht Club

Mar 5, 2008

What can i say! I stayed for 2 weeks in the Royal Phuket Yacht Club, which i believe was formerly a "le meridien" hotel, with my fiancee. We had an incredible time, we stayed in room 502, Highly recommended. The balcony was huge enough to sunbath and relax in privacy , the room was very clean, the bed was very confortable and the views were amasing and th beach was beautiful. We had a great time and will definately be coming back.

We went for dinner at all 3 of the restaurants, kate preferred the beachside restuarant (loved the fresh fish) while i loved the middle restaurant, called regatta i think, which had some of the best steak ive ever tasted! But all the staff were really freindly, always smiling, even the gardeners on the way to breakfast, but especially the girls on reception and the drivers who were really helpful.

Overall, Loved it, considering it for our honeymoon...highly recommended, 2 thumbs up!

“Very disappointing”

The Royal Phuket Yacht Club

Avoid this property. Unfortunately, this hotel is past its prime. (If that ever existed). The property is rundown, the food is just decent. The airconditioning in the rooms is too noisy; the bathrooms have mold in the caulking. We were greeted by moisquitos and lizards in our rooms. The pool is small, the beach is way too crowded and the distance from the airport is too far. The hotel's website makes a comment about how you will enjoy the scenery during the 50 minute ride down-- that is a gross exaggeration. We were upgraded to a suite when our airconditioner malfunctioned within a few hours of arriving on the property. While the new room was definitely an upgrade, it also showed considerable wear and we had a few amphibians to keep us company. For the amount of money you pay per night, you don't get much in return. It is definitely a 3 star hotel with dishonest management. (They told us in writing they would refund our money for 2 nights and now are refusing to). We transferred to the JWMarriott (same price) and loved every minute thereafter.
