We were dropped off here briefly on the way home from a far too long powerboat trip to Phi-Phi islands and surrounds. The bar/restaurant here did not serve coffee, and they served beer out of an esky cooler. The setting was basic but nice enough. I didn't bother with the pearl shop, as my patience and further interest in anything had been tapped out by the 'Odyssey' which is a Phuket Adventures powerboat tour.
We had a look at some of the photo boards up on the walls at the back of the bar. There was one wall in particular which had a large number of wedding photos of incredibly beautiful European woman, who all seemed to be marrying men who looked quite ordinary in comparison. We were also able to watch some large pond fish being fed by one of the locals. Toilet facilities were basic, make sure you wear footwear into them.
The beach here is nice, but like many beaches in Thailand such as this, the tranquillity is constantly disturbed by multi-engined powerboats, reversing in and out to pick/drop people up. There is also a rather disconcerting number of curly tailed dogs that waltz around the bar and surrounding area which at times I found to be rather surreal. Also, don't spend too much time walking barefoot on the sand as it's very sharp.
I wouldn't make a future special trip to this place again unless it was to learn more about the incredibly beautiful women who seem to get married here.
Tip: Find the photo board at the back of the bar, and feed the fish in the pond behind the bar as well.
