“A good place to eat”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2013

Good food, fair prices, excellent ambience with the non-stop sea-breeze blowing during your meal..

food portions were a bit small though...

“here's how most hotel guests ended up at this disgusting place..”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2013

Let me just say this.. The reason why the front office staff (guest service agents, concierge, operators on down to the bellman at Laguna or where ever you're staying would recommend this place is because they get a 10% but from your bill. That's how it's done in Phuket, Samui, etc. Now, this is against hotel policy, but when you're working for peanuts you don't turn down easy money even when it's against your better judgement. How do I know this? I was a foreign trainee at Angsana Laguna which is another essay in itself. There! The trick of the trade. That is how most hotel guests ended up at this abominable place.

As for this restaurant, yes, it was bad when I went there in Jan of this year as well. My parents came to visit while I was training and I wish I hadn't dragged them there on their fiest night. Service was just abhorred. The staff made faces that I didn't know was possible. In fact, there was one bellman who actually read this site and was quite honest to our guests about this restaurant, and I should have listened to him.

My advice would be to drop the usual tourist's mindset and go get some street food. A lot of the street food I had tried was surprising delicious. If you're worrying about hygiene then try to imagine what Lotus kitchen must be like. Or you can always go to central and try the many restaurants there which were quite good. Even the food court at Tesco Lotus had quite decent food. There was a dish called hoytod which I absolutely loved.

“Right by the beach and reasonably priced and good food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2013 via mobile

Awesome location right on the beach with a beautiful view of the sunset, accompanied by live band and a mini fireworks display. Reasonably priced food with live seafood you choose from the tanks. Food is good and beautifully presented. Wide variety of seafood, Thai food and European food. Attentive staff and free shuttle bus to and fro the resorts in Laguna Phuket. Reservation is required if you want a table right next to the sea.

“Watch what you order....”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2013

We chose to dine at lotus for a casual dinner, the location is right next to the beach, so great views and a nice breeze. The food was ok, watch what you order if you don't see the weight of the fish, it can turn out to be an expensive night! Neither of us are smokers and found it to be very uncomfortable when you are sat outside behind 4 people smoking!!! Service was good, but worried when my credit card was taken out of my site for processing. Free shuttle provided for those staying on the Lagina complex.
