Very quiet hotel only 3 minutes from the beach. prices for rooms are very reasonable.Good staff friendly and courteous. It also has a good restaurant but it is close to other popular bars and restaurants.

2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 12, 2013

I stayed in Sabai Lodge from March 7 - 10 2013 for 3 nights, together with a friend.

Mixed impression: On arrival (8 pm) my room was ready, but my friend's room still not cleaned (checkout time for leaving guests is at noon!!!).

Aircon wasn't working in my room, just blowing hot air. Repair team was there quick but not overly successful.

Next night Aircon went out of service again. Another repair effort. Not successful.

So I went to front desk and requested another room. Not available, fully booked, bla bla bla.

After 30 minutes of friendly arguing and insistiing (we are in Thailand, you know) all by the sudden the room next to mine was available - and with working aircon.

Room service didn't work effectively either, returning to hotel at 5 pm and room wasn't cleaned.

Sabai Lodge is in principle a great hotel with a good selection of pools, comfortable bedding, clean but outworn rooms, but it looks like the management is cashing in (lots of russian guests) instead of keeping the place in good shape to work on sustainable business.

So I regret, too much trouble for a good review, they should think about acting proactively in the interest of guests and not just react on complaints.

Stayed here again in February 2013 for one week and I would echo my previous review comments once again to be favourable, also looking at most other reviews appear in the main to be favourable to this hotel.

Unfortunately as often happens sometimes second time around visit can change opinion, and was disappointed at the attitude of some of the senior reception desk staff...this time around lot less cooperative and unwelcoming.

The breakfast system still needs staff to be more awake as to ensure that food and cutlery is replenished as required.

But overall a still good place to stay

Room Tip: Definitions need to be watched, I booked a 1st floor room which to the hotel staff was ground floo...

I booked this hotel for 6 nights on the hotel website. I asked to have a quite room. When I arrived, my superior room ! was at the end of a corridor and very noisy. The view was horrible on the groundfloor with a view on trashes ! During the night, everibody hear the people talking all along the night. At 4am every morning a big truck is parking just near the windows during more than 15 mns, it is impossible to sleep. It was my worste hotel in Thailand, the last time. I asked at the reception to change the room they told me that all was already booked. I stayed 6 nights and I can extend my stay for four days. I asked on the reception to meet the manager, she is not here, she is in hollidays, probably not ! I asked for a commercial sign to have an extension of my stay in another room for the same price but no possibility.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2013

Stayed here in January 2012 with a few friends.

The Sabai group own a number of hotels in the North End of Pattaya, this Sabai Lodge is the cheaper and best value in my opinion. It located just on Soi 2 off the Beach Road.

The hotel has three swimming pools and the rooms range from basic to superior , not much difference in them from what I can see though.

There is a mii bar next to the main pool and the restaurant serves some good food.

Very close to the beach , five mins walking.
Very close to the Big C shopping centre and its surrounding Markets,

I have no complaints about this place and its a place I would stop in again.

Great value hotel with choice of nice swimming pools. Staff always very efficient and usually very friendly

Close enough to all the action but off the main roads enough to make it peaceful at the same time.

I stayed in the cheaper room so were basic but sufficient. Have lots of different room rates if you enjoy a little more luxury

Best thing though is value. Not easy to get a central place with pool (in sabai's case pools!) for under thb1000 in high season.
