“The private pool saved the day”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2012 via mobile

Room was clean, ac was noisy, water ran out twice. Internet was 500 baht for the week but they only charged this if it actually worked in the villa. Market next door was excellent for food.

The private pool was the main reason for choosing this location & it made the stay worthwhile.

I had stay two night at this villa on 18th and 19th of Sept 2011, the location of the villa is not so good, it took me 1 hour to get there. I have read lots of negative reviews about this villa, somebody say water problem, somebody say room service is not good, one cannot expect a star rated room service in a private villa. there might be some water problem in the past but during my stay i didn't have any problem

For me i had a very nice experience over all or i can say one of my lifetime experience here at View Talay, the ambiance is very quite and the pool is too good and above all the privacy wow..... i say one must try this villa once.

I must stay here again very soon.

1) The villa with its own pool was beautiful, private & a relaxing oasis after the pace of life outside in Jomtein and Pattaya - I would definately stay again.
2) Restaurants, supermarkets, a local market and other facilities were an easy walk just outside the resort front gate.
3) It felt secure as security staff were on the front gate and near the reception.
4) Friendly & helpful staff !
5) Free internet pc at reception
6) It was good to be staying in Jomtein as it has a better beach than Pattaya and is less tacky. Pattaya is an easy Tuk Tuk ride away if you want 24hr nightlife.
7) 3 islands trip with pattayacity-seatravel.com excellent value. Plus elephant ride with www.pattayaelephant.com also excellent

1) There were water supply issues some days but reception (Edward) did whatever they could to rectify. 2) Hot/cold buffet breakfast was limited but acceptable - there could be an improved choice of cereals and coffee/tea would be better kept hot in flasks rather than cooling too quickly in pots.

Room Tip: Follow soi 5 to the beach, turn right & great restaurant 2nd or 3rd building along, with trees a...

Villas are old and musty and in need of a good clean. The resort far from anything so unless you're driving its hassle to get anywhere.

Greetings,

I want to take the time to write an honest review of this hotel. It is important that you read this so you can avoid this hotel for your vacation. I too read the descriptions and was hopeful for a wonderful stay here. Unfortunately, this was the worst stay of my life at any hotel I have ever visited.

First, it should be noted that there is construction going on near the hotel and there is limited water in the villas. This means for two days of my three stayed here, I had no water for a shower or even to brush my teeth. I continually complained to the front desk, and the manager said that he would try to deliver some water to my villa, but this never happened.

What is most important is the lack of safety at these villas. On my second day, I locked my front door and went to eat breakfast. When I returned, my room had been cleaned and someone had gone through my wallet and taken two large bills of money. The German manager of this resort proceeded to blame me and say "I had done everything wrong" and that he works with a bunch of "stupid Thais" who will never admit to taking anything. What an insensitive and incompetent owner this is. I honestly felt bad for the Thai people who have to work for this man, and it is no wonder that customer service at this hotel is so limited if they follow his lead.

There are numerous other problems with this hotel/resort - location is remote and not in the action of South Pattaya/Walking Street, and the breakfasts are absolutely terrible. If you want the same fried hot dog and one egg each morning, then you should stay here. Furthermore, they promise free wireless internet yet when you check in, the Thai staff says "the manager decided he now wants to charge 750 Baht ($25 US dollars) for the internet". Not surprising.

Despite all these problems, the primary issue is your safety as a guest here. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. The privacy of a villa means nothing if you can't protect yourself from staff going through your personal belongings.
