Stayed with my familly at the Jomtien Garden Hotel & Resort x-mas 2012 and had two double rooms. First of all, the staff was VERY friendly and service minded which is a great +. But the hotel itself is in needs refurbishment

+ Great staff (Especially those who worked at the pool bar)
+ Price (value for money)
+ Spa (Very nice staff and premises)
+ Location (Close to the bach and a 20 minutes drive from Pattaya
-The hotel looks very tired due to wear and tear
-Rooms (One of our rooms har carpet which I don not like in hotel rooms, rooms needs refurbishment)

An extra + for the great x-mas buffet and entertainment.

We booked over the net and should have known better. The pics in no way resembled the hotel. We booked a 2 bedroom suite and it was large but it was tired. The first room we were shown smelled of mould and mildew. We were moved to the 7th floor and the room was fresher. Sadly the baby cot was broken (I had to tie up the side with a plastic bag). a chair was broken. The a/c control was broken. The kids playroom was filled with broken toys. The poolside furniture was broken.
The breakfast buffet was in a windy open air area and was crowded with package tour lunatics grabbing huge platesful of everything. Actually the food was pretty ordinary and a reason why we left 2 days into a 7 days stay. We went up the road to Avalon Beach Resort which I have reviewed much more favourably.
We were the only English speakers at either of our Jomtien hotels. Everyone else was Asian or Russian.
My pictures show the state of this place. You get what you pay for.

There would probably be only 2 positive things about this hotel, the location would be one (opposite the quieter and cleaner Jomtien Beach) and the staff would be the other. The rooms had better days, the breakfast was poor and wifi was charged at highway robbery rates. There was a pool which I didn't use, which was probably the smart option as it would have been bug ridden. For the price, you can't really expect the world but rooms in better condition and an edible breakfast surely wasn't too much to ask for? At the moment the only drawcard this hotel would have is its location, there are many other hotels nearby though... so check them out before this.

Room Tip: Check out the hotels nearby or more closer to the action (Walking Street) and leave this one at the...

We stayed in this hotel before but unfortunately on December 1 2011 the management got changed and things went down. We rented a villa. It was dirty and unkept. Many things did not work . It took us at least 10 days and many hours of begging the management to fix some of the defects.
The cleaning of the villa was supposed to be done every 3 days but in practice it was only every 7-8 days.
The hotel has a tennis court in a relatively good condition with some cracks on the surface but there is a laundry on one side which blows hot air and powder into the court and a garbage dump on the other which produces horrible smell.
The pool area next to villas is dirty and unkept. Poolside furniture broken, dirty and old. Restrooms dirty and without soap.
The main pool is ok but at night time the management almost never turned on light making guests to leave in the dark. We saw people falling as a result.
Nobody advised us about construction/renovation all around our villa, noise from which we had to endure during all of our stay making it unbearable.
Overall our stay was a bad experience with a lot of problems which the management, particularly Mr. Kretin and Ms Nun, handled very poorly.
We will avoid staying in the hotel in the future.

Room Tip: All villas are in bad shape but have good space for big families.

One of my best stays, at the 7th floor looking at the beach every evening just outside your window you had the spectacular dragonflies show thousands of this beautiful creatures hovering outside. The swimming pool is big and no many people use it, they have a pool bar, delicious Margaritas and Pinas Coladas I can testify that, try myself a few dozens just to get an informed opinion. Lovely hotel in our budget frame, our family love it, as usual in Thailand the staff is very polite and helpful, at the front desk is a young lady who will coordinate all your tours options, the breakfast buffet is huge so if you want to save a bit of money have it late about 10:30 and you can go on that fuel all day, I asked if possible to be taken to Suvarnavumi 150 kms away, to my surprise they said yes paid a very reasonable amount I think about USD 95.00 for 4 of us and all in a modern a/c van all the way to the airport.... Sure I will return.
