“the older (should be) the better!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 16, 2013

well i only stayed here for 1 night. when i heard that i was gonna stay in this hotel, actually i was pretty excited. but i got kind of dissapointed. the lift was too small, and the hallway was a lil bit creepy.
thought i could get a room with a carpet below but then i slept in the room that probably needs some renovation or renewable.
most of all the breakfast was fine, the staffs were friendly, and I saw a tuk-tuk near the pool which's pretty interesting.

Lovely modern hotel and good price. Very nice rooms and hotel. Down a smelly road just off 2nd beach road near boys town. Much better at the posher north end of pattaya but can not fault the hotel. Just not in the right position for us.

Room Tip: get a pool view

If you are travelling to Pattaya with your chikldren, look no further than Mercure Pattaya. It is located offthe Second Street away from shady bars and Go Go clubs and is the ideal family hotel. There is a 24 hour complimentary car srvice available from the hotel to the main street.
The rooms are of a decent size but the bathrooms are slightly small. The service is good and the breakfast is value for money.

I liked this hotel, the location is not perfect but they are providing free shuttle to the 2nd road.
the rooms are clean and nice, the bathroom equipped with handheld bidet, and tea/coffee making facilities is available in the room.

Warm welcome and settling in by Thum Toh and Aui. Kookai and Justine saw to our many needs in the Restaurant . Executive Chief Vinawut came up with some breakfast surprises .
The pool had a good deal 2 for the price of 1 on Heineken Beer. We had a great stay thanks to GM ALex and all the staff.c

Room Tip: Pool view or city view both OK

We stayed at the Mercure Pattaya for 7 nights. You need to explore around the hotel and you will find that it is in a very good location, close to a minimart, theatre and the beach etc. (at first you may think it is out in the middle of no-where!) We took one look at the dirty beach, wall to wall with umbrellas and noisey tourists and decided to spend our time beside the resorts beautiful, newly renovated swimming pool. Plenty of nice shady trees and umbrellas. The rooms are good, the only drawback is the tiny bathroom and access into the shower. We had a room on the 7th floor overlooking the pool. However, this hotel is used by a lot of tour groups and by the 3rd night we were sick of being woken by noisy revelers coming home at all hours of the night. We met with Alex, the GM and told him the situation. What a lovely friendly fellow and so eager to solve the problem. We were then offered a choice of two rooms, the family room which is a lot larger or the same room away from the lifts. We took the family room and found it much quieter!!! I read other reviews that said don't go to breakfaast until after 8am, when the majority of tour groups have left. This is so true! We enjoyed breakfast, although not a great deal of choice with cereals. Great egg station though. Lunch and dinners were good and reasonably priced with your Accor card. We enjoyed the wonderful Friday BBQ, very quiet and so beautiful beside the pool. Not a great deal of food prepared but all fresh and tasty. All staff on the whole were very friendly and accommodating. We would definitely recommend this hotel.
