“Cheap and central hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2011

Hotel cheap and on the main road easy to find. I found personnel at the reception not very much polite, there is surveillance 24 H and a tourist desk to plan excursions.
if you are used to sleep in a not noise environmnet avoid the "new part" of the hotel, the one that is looking at the main road, to sleep quite is better in the "back" were no view but no noise. the hotel is not charging for guests.
Good breakfast and dinner at good price but go early otherwise you will not find most of the food.
Overall a good deal hotel.

I was treated like a miserable 'farang' by the staff at the reception desk. I have complained by letter to the owner of the hotel but had no reply.
The housekeeping staff on the other hand were almost all friendly and helpful.
The buffet breakfast (not inclusive) is good, but you can get the same at the Lek hotel nearby
or the Lek Villa on Naklua Road.

Room Tip: The best rooms are those most remote from the street, but none are perfectly quiet.

I've STAYED here 5 times before and have seen the light. I use to like this place cause I was dirt poor and it is a good location. Now I'm a bit better off and here's what I know.
Towels in such a state just be happy they have been washed. Blankets so old you put them on the floor, a fridge so dodgy it wouldn't be picked up off the street, curtains so moldy they are best left untouched, air-con so noisy it helps block out the noise from the street, staff so underpaid just be grateful they turn up to work.
Lets put it this way. I booked on so 3 for 750baht. great pool, shower and the works. I wanted to be more central and thought I liked this place.
While trying to check in the manager pulled a cutting knife on some idiot who was late checking out. Living in Thailand for 10 years I was shocked. Thais don't make idle threats. After we got out room we realized the stuff in our bags wasn't worth the risk of staying in this room. We checked out by 8 pm. Its just a hole this place. !000baht up the road got us a view of the ocean and a 4 star hotel.
This place is for the low of the low or people who just don't know any better

I stayed here for one week and everything was great, I had no complaints for the price. OK it wasnt the MGM Grand, but it wasnt $150 a night either. 100% recommended. Clean and tidy, with a good maid daily, cheap laundry service and all you ask for.
