“Beautiful Hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2012

Stayed at A1- Royal with my husband for 3 nights in the month of December. the property is very beautiful and the hotel is situated right across the beach. Lot of vendors selling sea food and fruits on the beach road. One can walk down the beach road and find many restaurants, money exchanges and stalls selling clothes and souvenirs. Being very rigid for Indian food, many restaurants in close proximity couldn't fill my appetite. so the Breakfast spread in the hotel was ok, not great. but the staff is quite helpful. English speaking is difficult for the people but one can manage speaking slowly. One should try the Massage services provided in the property reasonable and mind blowing.
Would surely recommend this hotel

My wife and i stayed here for two nights over christmas. The room was okay, location so-so. The two things that struck me were the staff (excellent) and the breakfast buffet (horrible). The staff was a great help each time we had a question....and we had several. We went to the breakfast bar the first morning and were appalled. It was of the same quality as at a tiny, budget hotel we had visited in Turkey earlier in the year. Save your money and eat breakfast somewhere else!!

On our honeymoon package our tour operator chose this hotel. They gave away rooms to someone else and we got a different room in main wing. No view from the room. Rooms were infested with Mosquitos. On our honeymoon we were given a room with different beds. When I asked them to get one big bed they can't do it . The hotel doesn't have tooth brush and shaving kit.
Terrible spread for breakfast.

We were delighted to find out that on our overnight stay we were just in time for the fireworks festival. Needless to say the whole beach front was packed with vendors (food, souvenirs, trinkets and everything in between).

We stayed in the other wing so it was kind of confusing when we got there. The lobby was a bit small but had strong wifi connection. No wifi connection in the rooms, unfortunately.

The elevator was tiny! Maybe fit about 5 people with small bags. With suitcases such as ours (maybe medium in size), around 3 people. And sooo slow. No one to accompany you so you have to ask where your room is and what floor. we found out the room numbers were based on the 2nd digit of the number on the key. So we went to an entirely different floor.

The buffet was pretty good but found across the building. Big space with a pool facing the beach.

A note on the cleanliness though, during breakfast the service person was handling the pancakes and bacon with his bare hands right in front of us. So we kinda lost our appetite.

Based on the location, I would recommend this hotel. But don't expect really high class service. Its okay in my book.

I stayed here for 2N and 3D. Our stay was very pleasant. Hotel is situated just opposite to Pataya Beach. One thing I want to tell there is no hotel having Private beach even all five star in Pataya.
Hotel is providing free wi fi in lobby only. Food is good particularly for those who want to have Non Veg or sea food. For vegetarians, it has very limited options but still they managed their level best to get Veg food. Location of swimming pool is very good as it is just beach facing.

Room Tip: Room in New lobby is good.

This was our first visit to Thailand and a belated honeymoon. We flew in from London Heathrow, via Muscat in Oman to Bangkok. Our experience with the taxi drivers was a bit scarey, but 1.5 hours later we arrived in Pattaya in the early evening. Check in to the New Wing was efficient, but we were expected to pay 2000 baht as deposit against any breakage immediately! The room was on the 6th floor overlooking the side street, if you looked out over the balcony you could see the sea in the distance. The room was very clean and comfortable with a mini fridge (we stocked it with drinks and snacks from the supermarket) and complimentary water and bathroom condiments.
We did not eat here during our 6 night/room only stay, but it was very popular and always busy with large groups in the evening. Drinks by the pool were expensive and you are not supposed to bring in your own to drink! There were usually a few sun loungers available, or tables and chairs around the pool area, which was always clean and tidy.
I had a pedicure that was very nice and inexpensive in the hotel's salon.
Wifi is available in the reception areas.
The location is on the sea front, but the brochure pictures are deceptive - the sandy beach area is very narrow, rubbish is strewn and the sea is not clear aqua blue!
The taxis are easy to jump onto into the heart of Pattaya for the night life or Mick's Mall for a spot of shopping, just pay 10 baht to the driver per person when you press the bell to get off.
We are twice at the Pattaya Beer Garden which was good (just on the right before you go into Walking Street), plus twice at a restaurant just to the right of the hotel facing the sea front. Lunch was at KFC once and we had a meal at the Hard Rock Cafe on the last night, but that was not anything special and very pricey!
We did the three island boat trip one day and got to see some white sand and clear sea, although the facilities and lunch were very "primal"!!!!
On leaving the hotel we had to pay 300 baht as we'd lost one of the room key cards, but take note of the price list in the room of every single item from the shelf mirror glass to the tissue box holder, should it get "lost" or broken!! It takes longer to check out than it does to check in as the staff go and check the room, even at 3.30 in the morning!!
Overall - would recommend.
