Had a little trouble finding the place because they’ve recently moved to a different plaza a couple blocks over. When we called to get directions, one of the staff offered to actually come and get us and lead us back to the restaurant. Impressive service!
The menu and dining room itself look very average and didn’t lead us to expect much, but when the food arrived, what a nice surprise! Toritilla chips are fried fresh when you order them, and served with two homemade salsas, a mild red and a spicy green, both equally delicious. Always on the look out for some truly great buffalo wings, Sam’s certainly passed the test. Another pleasant choice were the Mexican spring rolls filled with beef, onion and peppers and served with a zesty Asian-Mexican fusion-style sauce. For entrees, we tried the Mexican platter with taco, enchilada and tostada, and the BBQ pulled pork platter. Everything was nicely seasoned and served fresh. Margaritas are also good, although a bit small, but they hit the spot after a long day of swimming and beaching at Koh Larn. Will definitely hit Sam’s again next time in Pattaya.
