I visited this hotel with my boyfriend for the first time last year and was oh so impressed!. To think of all the hustle and bustle going on outside of the hotel and just how quiet it is inside. This year was my 50th birthday, and my boyfriend asked where I would like to go that was extra special. I must admit, it did not take a lot of thinking about! Woodlands was my choice. The staff are very professional, and keep very very busy (although you'd never know they are there, they are so quiet!). We had a deluxe room this year, and well, what can i say? The whole place is absolutely spotless and first class without a doubt. Service cannot be faulted in any way shape or form. Buffet breakfast was first class, as was all the poolside meals that we had. (Must say, they mix a mean cocktail too!!) It feels like you have the whole hotel to yourself. Absolutely wonderful. Just like 'Arnie', i'll be back!!!

“Quiet relaxing experience”

Woodlands Resort Pattaya

Mar 11, 2008

I stayed with my husband and 4-month old son at Woodlands over the Chinese New Year - high season. We had the suite which was very nice furnished and practical.
Hotel provided a baby cot, but not a moskito net (so be sure to bring one for a baby yourself). We arrived very late at night, staff was greeting us very warmly and check-in was done within a few minutes.
Throughout our stay we enjoyed the relaxing time at the pool which was even though it was high season quiet.
Breakfast buffet in the morning was excellent, as is the attached bakery.

Stayed at the Woodlands Resort with my husband in December 2007. I'll start with the only problem we had. When we arrived there was a hotel being built immediately behind the Woodlands and despite it being 10.00 p.m. work was still going on. After complaining we were upgraded (free of charge) to another room at the other side of the resort however this wasn't ideal either as there was a noisy bar that was opened into the wee small hours. Other than this we loved the Woodlands. The staff were lovely and very helpful. We had planned on seeing a bit of Thailand whilst there but the pool and surroundings were so nice we spent most days lazing there and having lunch by the pool (which was always lovely). We only had breakfast one morning, we much preferred to have a croissant or sandwich from La Bagette - food was always delicious. Only had dinner one night in the hotel and compared to eating outside it was fairly expensive (by Thailand standards). Rooms were fairly basic but were very nice and kept clean. I made use of the Spa whilst I was here. The treatments are very cheap compared to elsewhere in the world. I had a Royal Thai Massage first (I would compare this to a Swedish Massage as it is quite rough) and then went back to my Aromatherapy which was lovely and relaxing. The girls didn't speak much English but tried and loved hearing about where you came from and your family. The Woodlands isn't right in the heart of the resort but it is a vey short and cheap journey on the wee "toot- toot" and a ten minute leisurely walk.

A couple of places we would recommend eating is "Mr 99" on the main street (opposite the beach) and the Italian (propery indoor restaurant) again on the main street (opposite the beach) that has it's own brewery. They have a 3/4 piece group playing every night and they were very good.

Would definitely recomment Pattaya and in particular Woodlands Resort.

I have some picutres and will post these later.

I visited this lovely, small hotel in July 07. We opted for an upgraded room which was classed as a swim out room, it was well worth the extra (pennies.)

Upon arrival we were greeted with smiles from all the staff including the security gaurd at the entrance, they continued this the whole trip. We where asked to sit over at the comfortable couch area while reception checked us in, so none of that standing around waiting to be checked in, we just sat there with our ice cold flannels and lime tea that they had prepared for us and everyone eles.

The room was spacious and well decorated, not as modern as i hoped it to be, but compfortable and everything you need is there. We had the swim out room, there are only three of these and well worth it with an extra large balcony which balances over the water and steps down in to the pool. VERY NICE. Having this room meant we need'nt leave it to sunbathe eles where, we had the privacy of our own balcony and the convienience of entering our room at any point without leaving your belongings around the pool... You know what i mean!

We never booked to eat at the hotel as the food in Pattaya its self is too amazing and we wanted to experience as many diferent restaurants as possible, although we did have breakfast every morning, unless we were too hung over to make the 10.30 am finish.

Overall the hotel offered every thing you need for a B & B. The pretty 'WOODLAND' surroundings, a beautiful spa and gorgeous well kept grounds. If your anything like us, all you do is sleep and soak in a bit of sun there so it's fab for that. We were out exploring Pattaya most of the time.

You'll love it...

After travelling around Europe for 3 months we stopped in Thailand for 10 days on the way back home to Brisbane. We chose Pattaya as we didnt want another flight to Phuket as we were a bit sick of moving and it was just over an hrs drive from the airport, so nice & easy. We booked a Deluxe Pool room, which was perfect & overlooked the pool.

The staff were great, breakfast was good, typical Asian American breakfast. We didnt have any other meals in the hotel itself, apart from 'La Baguette' which was great for a cappuccino, crepes, cakes & wonderful ice cream - try the cocunut ice cream milk shakes - Yum!

I didnt use any spa facilities at this resort, as they were overpriced, but the rooms did look nice. Instead, every day I went up the road to 'Samsara' for my daily massage/body treatment. I tried everything on their menu & found them good every time with all differnt therapists, I wouldnt waste my money on an aeromatherapy massage again though as the regular oil massage is really the same just without the fragrance.

Each night my husband & I had I hr reflexology across the road before we turned in for the night which was a good way to end each day & after all our walking in Europe we got our feet feeling great again before coming home.

Further up the road from samsara was quite a large beauty salon, the massage there was OK & I went back the next day for an eyebrow wax...WRONG they totally botched it. My husband said it was due to happen as I had always had such good luck with waxing & hair cuts while I was away, so I guess it was just the law of averages, but now I'm having to grow them back & wait to have them reshaped again.

Everyone knows Pattaya is full of girly bars & if you dont want to look at them I wouldnt recommend you go there as it is everywhere, but as a chill out stopover for massages, cheap food & a nice resort to lounge around in I have no hesitation in recommending Woodlands.
